CDC Elk Wing Caddis
One of the most prolific dry fly patterns in anyone's fly fishing box in almost any part of the country. This elk wing caddis dry fly has a distinct difference and that's an underwing of CDC which keeps in buoyant. CDC are the oil-rich feathers that come from the base of a duck's tail and are therefore very water resistant to float a dry fly high. In tan. Dry fly available in sizes: 12, 14, 16.

"I LOVE the elk wing caddis. I live in southern NH, and can take trout even on the hottest days of summer.. it was in the mid-90's last week, and I still took 8-13" trout on a consistent basis. I've used the EWC for several years in many different areas of the country (I used to be in the military), and I've found it to be my favorite fly for fishing from Virginia to Maine. "
