Bead Head Stonefly

Stoneflies are crawling flies that love rocky bottoms and fast water and this big stone nymph has the weight and size to get down and get noticed by big trout hanging on the bottom. Very realistic fly pattern. Fish these weighted flies as the lead flies in a two-nymph system with a smaller nymph behind it floating just above it.In yellow, black, brown.Fly pattern available in sizes: 6, 8, 10.

"I’m from Ottawa, Canada and usually I wet the line every weekend in the Ottawa River, fast flows, rocky and windswept. So far this little number has caught me about 23 small-mouth and a line snapping brown. It is perfect because it is bright enough for the fish to notice in the fast flow, and meaty enough them to come out of their lie. I recommend it for over cast days especially."
