Incredible Comfort,
January 12, 2009

"This is a fantastic coat with great comfort and style. I must say, however, that I did get this coat for 40% off at the Orvis in Manhattan, so that may color my review to the positive side even more.
I have been comfortable in 10 degree F, blowing weather. With the collar up and my neck covered in the shockingly soft shearling, there were no drafts what-so-ever and I must say i was even a bit too warm at some points.
The leather itself looks great and is very soft yet the coat itself has a great heft to it that gives me confidence in the durability.
The only thing I would warn people about is that although the coat I purchased is a 42 regular, it fits me perfectly and I am exactly a 42 short. The Sleeves are perfect on me but I would imagine that a true 42 regular person would find it a bit short."

Beautiful Coat,
November 6, 2008

"This coat is very handsome and comfortable. The lining is so soft it feels like a little bit of a fur coat. I really look forward to the chilly days when I can wear this beautiful coat. The front double zipper is a nice touch for times when I choose to wear the coat in a car. The coat is ideal for temperatures ranging from approx 20 to 60 deg F.
My two criticisms are small, but by discussing them I hope that Orvis can make this great design even better.
1. When the liner collar is removed, the remaining buttons around the collar are visible and can be felt on the neck. If I wear a shirt with a collar it is not much of an issue, but it usually resigns me to leaving the liner in place even if the ambient temperature is on the warm side (60 deg F).
2. I wish Orvis offered a Tall version of this coat. At 6'2", my arms extend beyond the sleeves a bit when I have to reach out. This is for a size 44 coat. I am considering having the sleeves professionally lengthened 1" per side. Everyone's body dimensions are different so this might not be a concern for other people that are the same height as me."
