"The is is a great product. I have purchased this product for by Golden Retriever. It gave me years of service. Because of that I purchased one for my Shi Tzu. Unfortunately, the smallest one was way to big for him. I called customer service and explained the with the measurement of his neck the person I ordered with thought this would fit. They replaced it with the collar with the nylon buckle without hesitation. It fits him perfectly. I never hesitate to order from Orvis. The customer service is superior. That is very important to me. As a business owner I pride myself on my customer service and greatly appreciate that from from other businesses. Thank you for superior products and service. "I have bought these collars for many years and they are all that I e xpected with one exception. The pink collar does not maintain the color for any length of time. Right now, the pick is noticebly lighter than the red collar I bought at the same time. This, however, will not prevent me for continuing to purchase these collars in the future."

"I BOUGHT THE YELLOW COLLAR FOR BOTH OF MY BOXERS AND THEY LOOK GREAT ON THEM. I WANTED SOMETHING BRIGHT SO IF THEY GOT AWAY IT WOULD BE EASY TO SEE THEM. THE COLLARS SEEM LIKE THEY ARE MADE VERY STRONG AND I THINK THEY ARE GOING TO LAST A GOOD WHILE. "I have previously purchased the same product from Orvis. We needed a replacement lead.
We ordered the pink color, assuming, since it's the only pink on offer, that it would match the pink that we ordered less than a year ago. Not so. It's a bubblegum pink which does not match the "hot pink" collar (and lead) that we previously bought.
More upsetting, the embroidery on the lead was also much smaller than its predecessor. Thus, it's also smaller than in the picture that accompanies this item. You've been warned.
So, in point of fact, this product is inferior to what it once was.
I'm disappointed because quality has gone down, especially with respect to the embroidery."

"Great Product!!!...I purchased this lead and collar in red for my daughter and son in law's new lab puppy as a Christmas gift...Both the lead and collar are well made of a high quality heavy duty material.The length on the collar and number of holes provided gives plenty of room for puppy growth....I had ordered this particular Orvis collar and lead many years ago for this same daughter's dog when she was growing up and it seemed to last for ever, even though her dog chewed on it non stop."

"I read the current reviews before making my order. The conclusion was that two inches should be added to the length, as the collars were shorter that the size indicated.
I did so, and the collars were huge! I ordered for both dogs and had them personalized. That is a good bit of money wasted. The quality is great but the size issues made the purchases a costly disappointment. We heated an ice pick and added holes but now they is a long length of collar flapping and the yellow one is filthy."

"I have bought two different collars, one in green and one in orange. The orange faded slightly after a year, but the green is still bright after 2 years. However, the orange collar was for a lab puppy and I think it was washed a few more times than the green one. The orange is still going strong, very durable and will last much longer than the color. I would love to buy another collar and lead set for my golden, but the green still looks so good that I don't need another one. The metal buckle has lasted both dogs extremely well. I've been very impressed with the quality of fabric and buckle."

"All this discussion about collar sizing got me curious so I measured the 24" inch collar I recently bought. The collar has 4 buckle holes, each 1" apart. With the buckle in the outer most hole, I carefully measured the inside diameter of the collar: 23 1/4 inches. With the buckle in the inner most hole: 20 1/4 inches. So there we have it. The 24" collar is a 20 1/4 to 23 1/4 inch collar. Maybe someone at Orvis could measure the other sizes? It's a strong, well-made collar."

"I purchased these collars for my five dogs, all of varying sizes, because they had managed to chew the buckles on the plastic ones. I chatted with a representative to make sure I ordered the correct sizes; his instructions: place three fingers under measuring tape and then order that size - all collars that I ordered just fit on the very last hole so probably should have ordered up a size."

"I have had this collar for a little over a year and am disappointed that the color has faded from the bright, safety orange to a cantaloupe color. Otherwise, this collar is great. It is not frayed, the stitching looks wonderful. If you are looking for a functional collar with a permanent identification, this is a great buy. "This is a great collar if you don't want a hanging "standard" dog tag. The buckle looks so classic and the material is strong enough to hold the collar on by the last notch. Unfortunately this collar comes small, make sure to give your order an extra 3-4". We had to call back and have them re-send the order because we were certain Orvis sent us the wrong size, only to find out that the collars are 2" shorter then advertised (from last notch to buckle). However, we do love this collar, and we would absolutely recommend it."

"I purchased this collar and lead set for both of my dogs several months ago. The lead has a major problem (unless they've fixed it since) - the hand loop is GLUED down, not sewn as pictured. I never noticed it until one lead came completely undone. In looking at the 2nd one I see that it is also coming unglued. Fortunately - very fortunately - it did not come undone at a critical moment when a loss of control over my dog could have caused her injury or death! The blaze orange collar has been great with the exception of some fading - but they are in the water a lot so I guess that can be expected."

"Our 1 1/2 year old, extra large PUPPY finally grew into himself & learned he could run REALLY fasy and scale our 4 1/2 foot fence. Once he accomplished this once I guess he REALLY liked it, because he has done it numerous times since. After almost being hit by a bus, a good friend suggested we buy this collar. We purchased an electric blue one with his name & our number. We also have his sister (not as big & can't jump the fence) and they play very hard with each other. The collar is VERY durable and exceeds my expectaions of wear! A few nights ago they went out at 4 AM (pitch dark here), and Buddy (also pitch black) was GONE! We went driving around calling him to no avail and finally came home heartbroken. Just 2 hours later we received a call that he was nearly hit by a car again, and a neighbor had seen his name & called him over. He put him in his garage & callled us. I am convinced this collar SAVED HIS LIFE! We need a spare so we can wash the electric blue one, and are looking into a different higher fence but this is all not in the budget yet! Thank you Orvis for offering this life saving pet innovation of such good quality. Every dog should have one."

"I had tried several brands of adjustable personalized collars and none of them worked. Some were "stretchy," some were so narrow and flimsy that they got lost in the dogs' fur and some were impossible to fit. As a last ditch effort, I bought four of these. I was a bit skeptical because of the buckle not being adjustable. Well, this is the best collar we have ever had. The double layer of webbing gives the collar enough body to stand out and not get lost in the fur. The 1" width was available for my smallest dog. All four of my dogs got a great fit! I was so pleased with the collars that I ordered four more for spares. I was also impressed at how quickly the collars made it to my house. When you measure, instead of adding 2" to get the right size, I would add 3", especially if you have a growing dog."
