"The product was well constructed, and the color was great... The Medium size was MUCH SMALLER than expected. I returned it to order a Large, and Orvis had me pay shipping to return it, and then wanted shipping again for the replacement (larger) size. THEY SHOULD list "inside" measurements, because the "bagel" perimeter takes up a lot of room. I refuse to pay shipping again, so I ordered another bed elsewhere."

"My husband and I had purchased one of these beds last year and were less than thrilled with the color and cushion in the bottom. When it became available this year in Tattersall we decided to give it another chance.
I am so glad we did! The cushion in the bottom fits nicely and is not quite as poofy. The color, too, is true to its picture and and the material is good quality.
It was originally purchased for our white 60lb boxer puppy, but the other dogs just can't get enough of it. We bought a large, which is just right for the pup, but I'm thinking we may have to invest in another one soon so they won't have to dog pile quite so much. Wonderful bed!"

"I have 5 dogs! They are very spoiled and are quite used to the furniture. I have only had this bed for a few days and would say it's great. The only downfall is that the inner cushion is easily moved over and the dog is lying on the hard floor. I hope in time they learn to share and love this cushy cozy bed!"

"I ordered this bed with some reservations as the reviews said the bottom cushion was not so good. Well, they definitely improved it. It is very cushy and springy.... I'm a little worried my bulldog is freaked out by how cushy it is cuz he keeps jumping out of it. Hopefully he will settle into it soon. He loves doggy beds!"

"was worried about inner cushion after reading reviews but am happy with the bed. it does get pushed aside a bit by our sleeping dogs but they are still supported by bed sides and most of the cushion and seem happy enough. we've ordered a large since the med is such a hit with one dog!"

"My 110 pound Great Dane mix loves his new bed, and so do I! The quality is excellent, and it is attractive. I ordered the X-Large size for him, and even though it is quite large, he can either curl up and snuggle down in it, OR stretch out, and his long legs fit inside. The cushion is a tad small for the bed, but it is easy to fix. I am very pleased, this turned out to be an ideal bed for a big dog, and he DOES go to bed earlier now!"

"We have had this bed for about 2 months and our dog LOVES it. He has torn up every bed we have ever gotten him and this one he doesn't even scratch or try to dig in! He usually sleeps at the foot of our bed on a different bed at night but will actually sleep in the living room in this bed so we are ordering a second one tonight! "Here are positives for the M "double-high bagel bed": light brown color is true vs. picture, surface doesn't show hair (red longhair & black shorthair dachshunds) and they LOVE IT, although there's a power play going on for now... they won't share it! We'll see if that changes... Negatives: 1) I phoned cust service to ask about the bottom under the pillow - would dog be lying on a layer of fabric over the hard floor? I was told NO, this wouldn't be a problem, but they misinformed me. If your dog likes to burrow (like mine) or scrunches down to get cozy, the answer is YES: you'll need to add cushioning under the supplied pillow, which isn't quite large enough and is very easy to get under or for dog to scrunch betw sides & pillow. I read lots of reviews on the Orvis site before ordering AND called customer service. Disappointing wrong info, despite my best efforts to check it out. 2.) wish was avail in smaller size. buying 2 for little dogs (if they won't share) is way too expensive. For the price, I wouldn't recommend this item, but would get something more reasonably priced with better cushioning. I didn't want a project. 3.) Orvis seems to combine reviews of different beds, so it takes time to figure out what bed the reviewer is talking about - read carefully to see if dog bed YOU are considering is what's being reviewed. "Our 60 lb. former stray had taken well to domestic life--maybe a little too well. She loves lounging on the furniture, in spite of attempts to woo her with other dog beds. After careful evaluation of what she seemed to love about our furniture (snuggling against the back, and resting her chin on the arms) I decided to make one last attempt and purchased the double high bagel bed. Success! She LOVES it, and hasn't touched the furniture since! Regarding the sizing, I went with previous reviews and bought the medium despite her size. It's perfect, she can both curl up and lay out on her side comfortably despite being rather leggy. If your dog has made a home on your furniture too, give this one a try, you won't be disappointed!"

"Our 55lb dog had to be on our bed every night scrunched right in between us. It felt like we had a bag of sand in our bed, and it was difficult to stretch out or turn during the night. I read the reviews and was seaching for a bed that would provide him with the same sense of security and comfort. I ordered this double bagel bed based on other's feedback and the site's suggestions IT WORKS!!! It took only one night to train him, but he now goes right into the bed everynight! I ordered a medium and it fits him perfectly. Thanks for a great product! Only downside was that the time between order date and actual ship date seemed longer than necessary since product showed as in stock."

"I purchased this bed about a week ago, and couldn't be happier. I don't normaly write reviews, but thought I would share my experience with the sizing. This bed does run big. We purchased a Large for our 70lb weimaraner. Now, seeing the actual size, we could have gone with a medium but prefer the large because there is plenty of room to add his blanket in there too! "I ordered this bed for my GSP, Genna, in August. She loves it AND I love it. I was having a really difficult time breaking her from sleeping in my bed- she hated sleeping in her old bed. Now she goes right to her own bed (most of the time). It has plenty of cushioning and she snuggles right in! It's also very durable. Genna is rough with everything and this bed is still in one piece. It looks as new as the day it came in the mail!"

"I purchased this bed for my aging dog with hip dysplasia. It looked much thicker in the magazine than it is in person. The inner bed was too small for the outer ring, and when my dog got into it, she ended up falling between the cushion and the outer ring and was lying on the floor anyway! It would have been a greater expense to ship it back, so I bought another (cheaper) bed and stuffed it inside the outer ring to make sure she actually has some substantial cushion under her. Overall, I am disappointed by this product and recommend looking for another bed if a cushion is important to your dog!"

"I bought this bed to place in a colder part of our home. We have numerous Orvis beds, all of which we love, and we were going to give this style a trial run with one dog in particular. If she liked it, we were going to purchase more. The bed is great. Construction is quality. Very cozy. The particular dog this is for, however, is solid white. I chose the barnsley green b/c it appears white/cream and green and usually similar patterns hide the white hair. Sadly, when it arrived, I saw that it is not anything like it appears on the site. It is a muddy brown/green and tan pattern. Even my husband, who is not picky, says it has to go. We will be returning it."

"I have three whippets that share multiple beds. Previous beds were mostly flat (non bolstered). Now that they are all out of their chewing stages, I decided to get a bolstered bed. And from reviews, one guy said he had two Labs and they both fit in the medium size bed. So I got a medium thinking two could share, but my dogs have such long legs, they tend to only lay one in at a time (occasionally two will lay together and squeeze in). If I had it to do over I would get a large. In any case, they LOVE the bed. One dog would not get out of it for the first two weeks for fear one of the other dogs would take it over. They really like laying against the bolster and resting their heads on the bolster. Have washed the bed once and everything comes apart well to wash. The bottom cushion however could have a better way of securing it to the bottom, it tends to flip up. I can probably put some velcro on the cushion or something. But, I can't tell you how much they have loved the bed."

"I purchased the x-large bed about a year ago and it has definitely not lived up to my expectations. I was expecting this bed to be perfect for my 90 lb doberman, at first it seemed great, just like the picture, a nice snuggly bed, but the insert pillow will not stay put, it is now just a bunched up pillow that lays off to the side. And for the bolster sides, they do not stay up like in the photo, I guess because they have no support from an inner mattress, or are not stuffed full enough-they fall in flat or flop out onto the floor. The only plus to this bed was the nice material which washed well. If you have a large dog, I would not recommend this bed- it just does not hold up."

"This bed is actually too good. My beloved boxer (60 lbs) preferred to sleep lengthwise across my half of the bed. Every morning I would wake up in a ball, while he was sprawled out. I bought this bed for him for Christmas. Now I can't even get him into my bed to snuggle for a couple of minutes! (Guess I can't have it both ways!) I got the Large - and there is easily enough room for another dog of the same size. I haven't had any issues with the size of the inside pillow. It is the perfect bed for our boxer who likes to push up against the back of the couch or curl up behind our legs."

"I've just received the double high bagel dog bed. My first impression was that it was a great thing, googd looking and of a high quality. Un fortunatelly after first night I had to change my mind a bit. The idea of the bed is really great, but some minuses relate to the inner cushion which is too small and not enough firm. The inner cushion is cut with no edge height so my dog sleeps with his back on the bare bottom around edges. Maybe the larger cushion ( eg XL for the L bed) would help. The bed is good looking and of a good quality, but this inner cushion is a problem ( I put additional old pillow inside, but it is not exactly what I expected )."
