"This was the second Orvis bed, which we tried for our puppy, "Bootsie". The "Toughchew" bed was her first and second bed. (Her chew was tougher than the bed!) Orvis was very gracious in giving us a second "Toughchew" bed after "Bootsie" devoured the first, and generously refunded our money when "Bootsie" made quick work of the second "Toughchew" bed. Because we are always very pleased with Orvis Products and customer service, we knew that we would purchase a different Orvis dog bed. This donut-shaped bed is perfect for "Bootsie". She feels very cozy and comfortable in this soft, berber-lined bed. The bolsters around the entire bed encircle her body in warmth and softness - and she seems to have no desire to eat this particular bed! We have already needed to wash the bed. The process was very easy. The entire bed covering (medium size) fit easily into our front-loading machine and dried in the standard size dryer in about 40 minutes. Removing the cover and putting it back on were done with relative ease. I would highly recommend this dog bed to anyone! Thank You.b"

"Abby got her first bed from Orvis when she was just about a year old and finally it has finally worn out six years later. "I have a 95 lb. lab and we've struggled to find comfortable dog beds for her that she can actually fit in and stretch out a bit. This bed is fantastic. She loves the bolsters and curling up in the middle. It has very quickly become her most favorite place to sleep - so much so we've put one in the living room for the day and one in our bedroom for night. I think this comes close to rivaling sleeping in our bed."

"Having gone months without the "extra" basenji beds and with the cooler months closing in, it was time to bite the bullet and procure fireplace beds lest the barkless, but far from mute, ones thrill us with their Tasmanian Devil impersonations whilst fighting over the one area rug nearest the hearth.
I had hesitated at this purchase, hoping to find the cheaper knockoffs that I had in the past. I'm glad I bit the bullet as these are in fact far superior. I especially like how the center pillow is fixed to the frame of the bed, thereby reducing the tendency for it to migrate to another part of the house.
After some haggling over which of the two beds is the one they want, there is once more peace in the valley."

"i bought the medium for my two cockapoos who weigh 18 and 26 pounds. They can both cuddle up and sleep in it together nicely. They loved it from the moment it came. There has been no shedding that others spoke about. I do think it may be difficult to clean and then reassemble but i have not tried that yet. I would recommend this bed."

"I bought 7... yes, I have 7 whippets. These beds are beautiful... the dogs IMMEDIATELY loved them. After 24 hours 3 of the 7 exploded... after 3 days the rest did. It is something with the zipper... the ring around the top.... as I live in the UK I had to wait months to receive these beds.... and now to return them is at my costs and alot more time... It is not easy to get replacements nor find someone outside to do the zippers. Am disappointed with the customer service here in europe. It is what it is. A complete waste for me of alot of money but for the few days we had these beds... the dogs adored them! Was excited to have found something aesthetic, but alas... not worth the expense. I will not buy a "risky" product from here again. Shame as I was very pleased for 48 hours!"

"I bought this bed for my 60 lb. mixed retriever/pointer Lizzy. We ordered the large. We adopted her from Cabarrus Pet Society. She absolutely loved it. It appears to be very comforatable and cozy. It is a VERY good quality. We then got a beautiful chocolate lab, Maggy Mae and oh no, what happened next...She joined Lizzy and loved the bed. They both layed in it and had enough room. We were just before ordering another for Maggy Mae but she started chewing and ruined it! There was so much damage we just had to throw it away. Not only were we upset over losing the money we paid but, I was so sad for Lizzy as she loved her bed. I strongly recommend it IF your dog is not a "chewer". I guess our next beds will have to be tough chews! I would definately purchase another Ultimate Fleece Wraparound Bed if I didn't have the "chewer"! Orvis has the best quality beds I have ever had."

A very comfy Lily
"This is the best dog bed I've ever tried, hands down. I bought the medium size for my 50-pound chocolate Lab, Lily, and I probably could have gotten away with the small since she usually curls up in it.
She has a choice of this bed or her crate (with a Dog's Nest in it), and seems to choose this bed during the colder months and the crate during the summer months. I like the wraparound bolster because she loves to rest her head on things and she isn't going to fall out of it while she's dreaming.
Have not tried to wash it yet, but I do vacuum the cover occasionally for dog hair."

"I've got three active, energetic, up-and-at-it border collies. They all love these beds. First choice used to be the sofa, my lap, running rings round the walls... or all three in rapid, blurred sequence. Now, they come home and snuggle up in their beds.
For the older boy, the bed has plenty of structure and warmth. For the middle girl (a fuss-pot who finds it hard to settle) her bed has become a haven. For the pup, the durability is a bonus. Each of the three has a medium sized bed - the perfect size for their type, allowing them to stretch out, or (if they prefer) to curl up against the substantial bolster.
For me, the beds are great value. Not the cheapest on the market, of course, but excellent quality. They'll last. They're stylish, practical and I'd earnestly recommend them to all dog owners.
By the way, a nod to the the reviewer below who felt tempted to crawl into the dogs' bed... I actually took the plunge and can confirm that they are *even more* comfortable than they look."

"I loved the look of this bed and my dog certainly must like it because she does sleep on it. I would never buy fleece again because it isall over the carpets and is worn so thin on top there are bare spots. It looks old and worn out. She is not a chewer and doesn't work on pulling it apart. I am really disappointed that somethins so expensive can last only a few months."

"I bought this bed 2 months ago.
Pros: My dogs love it - it is nice and soft and comfy. My cats love it, too. It looks very nice in my room and it doesn't show the dirt. It is completely washable and can be taken apart to wash..
Con: The only con is that, like a lot of bolster beds, it is very difficult to put back together and I have a feeling the zipper might not last as long as the bed. It takes a full 15 minutes to put it back together moving the zipper inch by inch. (small bed). I think velcro might be a better way to go than a zipper."

"This bed is very stylish, seems comfortable (one of our dogs hates to get out of it, even for dinner), and fits our two standard dachshunds quite well (we have a medium). They love it! It looks like a raft on our floor, so we call it the "dachshund raft"....
My one caveat: if your dog is a turner (makes lots of circles before lying down) or an "arranger" (your dog needs to move his bed around, dig at it a bit, rearrange the stuffing if possible, etc.), the fleece on this bed will not hold up. On our bed, the floor has worn through because one of our guys is a bit vigorous in arranging his bed. So if your dog needs to do more than flop down or climb in, you may want to go for something a bit tougher.
Otherwise, it's an excellent bed."

"We have two dogs and four dog beds all from Orvis. We also have other dog products; most of which have also come from Orvis so you know we love their products. However, this bed is the worst about shedding. The fleece outside lining continually comes comes off and gets all over our house. Neither dog is a "digger" so I know they are not creating this issue. I have to sweep the hardwoods more because of this bed than after my Golden Retriever. I would not purchase this again and can't wait to get rid of it. We have not had any issues with the other dog beds from Orvis."

Big enough for both my boys to snuggle into at full stretch - they love it!
"I purchased the large for my two miniature schnauzers to share - they enjoy snoozing together so I wanted something large enough for them to both be able to fully stretch out on. They absolutely love it - the bolster is great as it offers them comfort and support. I'm impressed as after several washes it still looks like new. It's sturdy and heavy - sometimes I'm tempted to crawl in with them it looks (and feels) so comfy! Well worth the money - I would definately recommend this item - and so would my boys!"

"recieved this bed recently looks lovely ,but when I tried to remove the cover,what hard work it was and I am far from being a weakling, if I was to buy another bed I would make sure spare covers were sold as my dog is small but very active and sometimes very dirty!! and I can't see me washing it very often as I am afraid I wouldn't be able to get it back together that is my only complaint, what a shame"

"The only problem with this bed is that my jack russell terrier does not want to get out of it! It feels much more plush than most dog beds. The bolster aspect is the winning quality of this product for my dog, as he is able to have a built-in pillow for his head. It does need some readjusting after he uses it because it tends to become a bit lopsided, however, it molds back in to shape quite well. My dog weighs 25LB, and he fits just right in the small."

"My dog loves this bed so much, she has two of them. She actually almost prefers it over sleeping in my bed. I would definitely recommend this bed and so would she. She is a 50 lb terrier mix and the medium size is fine, especially since she likes to sleep in a ball."
