Conehead Nutcracker

These streamer flies will help you crack the code for springtime, fall, or for elusive big trout. Full of movement, the Conehead Nutcracker undulates and wriggles to attract fish, even when you're not stripping the fly. The rabbit strip in the fly looks alive and the marabou gives great movement too. The combination creates serious motion to imitate the sculpin or baitfish big trout love. Plus, the conehead gets the streamer flies down to where the biggest trout feed. Tip: Cast this weighted streamer fly upstream, let it sink and strip it back fast. Total of 9 streamer flies. One each of: #2 white, yellow, and black. Two each of: #6 white, yellow, black.

"I saw this selection in the Orvis catalog and knew I had to try it; especially on the bigger rivers in my area. With the conehead on it; I was sure it would get down close to the bottom. Lately; I've been using zonkers, bead-head Wooly Buggers on a sinking fly line to go after bigger fish. My wife and I drove up to the West Branch of the Penobscot in August of last year. Caught and released a 15" Landlocked salmon that jumped twice before coming to the net. Also lost a bigger one. Great fly."
