Couldn't be better,

"This vest is exactly as billed. I wear it for everything from grocery shopping to hiking in the Colorado mountains, where I live. It is comfortable, warm, good looking, practical and even makes a fine liner for a coat or jacket. I especially like the large bellows pockets for toting dog treats and tools I use for training Brittanies, and the two-way zipper for leaving open at waist or neck, as needed. This is a class act. Seems long and a bit large at first, but that's a good thing."

"Love the vest. Do not like the zipper and some of the colored slubs in the fabric are too large and look like lint."

Warm and stylish,

"Orvis have out done themselves again with this great outdoor waist coat. I have used this on several occasions. Most recently i was shooting in Scotland in -10. I was so warm i had to remove my coat. The waist coat kept the heat in and the cold out. I had several people ask me where i purchased it as they all liked the style and spots of colour in the tweed. It has seven pockets two large ones on the front which can swallow a box of 12g cartridges in each. ORVIS please look at the zipper i sometimes have problems unzipping it. Can i also suggest you add the stud fasteners that help keep the pocket flaps open."

"Also received this a gift for XMAS; a top notch vest. Very high quality; has the look of that old world English countryside hunting vest, yet not too pretentious to wear to work, on the stream, or in the field."

Comfortable and good looking...,

"I received the vest as a gift but the first time I wore it I couldn't get the zipper undone. As a result I had to "slip out" of the vest. I took the vest to my tailor and had the zipper removed. I had the same thing happen with the Orvis stadium coat but I replaced the zipper on that coat. The vest is a great looker and very comfortable just needs a good zipper or no zipper at all."

picture in catalogue not accurate,
December 15, 2009
By:

"I received my tweed vest in the mail yesterday and was taken back by the shading of the wool yarn. The olive color had bright spots of red and yellow all thru out the pattern on the vest. It almost looked like someone had splattered bright red and yellow paint spots on the olive tweed. If you go on line and look at the photograph of the item these bright yellow and red spots on the wool yarn do not appear to stand out even you enlarge the photograph and zoom in. I think Orvis should provide a more accurate Picture of the true color of the pattern of the vest on line and in their catalogue."

"I got this vest a week ago and it fits the bill. It has great style and well made. The pockets are large enough for shell and enough room for a nice sweater under the vest. After shooting you can go out to eat and still look good. A great buy for the money."

Feel Like My Grandfather...,

"This vest puts in me in mind of the fine quality outdoor clothing my grandfather wore. Just add the smell of mothballs, and it would be a trip into the past for me. I truly love this vest, and the photo absolutely does this great vest an injustice. It's a classic, and I know of no one who wouldn't love to have it!"

Brilliant, classic vest,

"Purchased one of these last year before a fly fishing trip in the Appalachians. this is truly a classic befitting the Orvis name and reputation. Solid material and craftsmanship that should give a lifetime of service. A note on fit, I wear a 40 REG suit and the smallest size, medium, was still plenty large on me. If they made a small, I would buy one."

Great looks, great value,

"The pics don't really do this vest justice, this is a great looking and very substantial piece of outerwear/ insulation . The cut is generous enough to accomodate a wool sweater underneath, and then you've really got a warm outfit. I work in the trades (glorified carpenter) and even the guys I work with have been admiring how nice this vest is & the price is very reasonable for what you get."
