"the service and the quality of the stockings was very good. My disappointment was in the design... the stockings are too narrow at the top. thus, not very functional, you are very limited as to what you could put in the stocking."

Bring Back the Gusset!,

"These really are beautiful, well made stockings; however, how come you no longer offer the zippered gusset option? We have three of these wonderful stockings that were purchased a couple of years ago, but our family is growing. So, now we have three gussetted stockings and one without. Three of us get an extra load of goodies and one does not. Please bring back the zippered gussetted stockings!"

"I've bought these for my first two grandchildren and the stocking came with a zippered gusset. These two are much smaller since they don't have the gusset. Will it come back."

Orvis Customer Service immediately contacted this customer and apologized for the confusion. The current version of the stocking does not have gussets. Orvis greatly appreciates the feedback as we are constantly trying to find ways to improve them. Orvis has also forwarded the customers comments to the buyers of the product so they can be aware of the feedback.

"We purchased 2 stockings for my daughter and new son-in-law three years ago, and were quite pleased with the quality and workmanship. This year her family expanded and we were able to purchase another for our new grandson -- just as beautiful as his parents'. I'm hoping they'll still be offered as we add another grandchild to the family over the years. My only disappointment is the cost when purchased piecemeal -- too bad we don't have a crystal ball!!"

"I have bought 4 or 5 of these stockings and have been very pleased with them. The quality of material is very good and so is the workmanship. The one I ordered this year arrived without the monogramming by mistake. Orvis was very quick to replace it"

"I purchased 4 of these stockings 2 years ago for myself, my husband and my two children -- and I loved them! I just had my third baby and had to get another one. They are so beautiful and they just look gorgeous hanging from our mantle over the fire at x-mas. These stockings are made so well that I do believe they will last until my babies are grown! The only thing that I can say that I am not that happy with is the width. They seem kind of narrow, and when trying to stuff them with things other than toothbruses or candy, there does not seem to be too much room. But that is ok, b/c I still really love them and love the quailty of them. Thank you Orvis!"

"I bought the angel stocking for my mom and then got the Christmas tree stocking for my wife two years ago. I think they're heirloom quality and they make for an elegant new addition to our Christmas decorating. I really like the idea of the new bigger version of the needlepoint stockings."

"I purchased the Santa and train stocking for my youngest grandson last Christmas and can hardly wait to get it out again this year! It is the cutest and best quality I have ordered and I have ordered stockings from at least 3 other websites. It is quite a bit larger than all my others and I know my other 3 grandchildren will think this lucky one is getting more fun things on Christmas morning than they are! I may have to order new ones from Orvis for all of them! I highly recommend this stocking. It should last the rest of his life! Thanks Orvis for your quality."

"I ordered one of these stockings three years ago for our first born and it was gorgeous when it arrived. We just had our second child and wanted to make sure that we got another Orvis stocking. I just received it today and I am very happy with it. They are bigger than most that you find in other catalogs and the needlepoint work is beautiful!"
