Solves the problem perfect...,

"These fit perfectly in our new Tahoe so that our pets can ride in the back seat area. The new Tahoe design left the area really inaccessible for dogs to ride in comfortable. Someone figured it out right."

Terrific Product!,

"My 12-1/2-year-old lab was afraid of sitting on the backseat in my new Nissan Cube because the seat is not as wide as the one she was used to, and if I had to stop suddenly, she would end up on the floor, terrified.
I spent a long time searching for a good solution—something less expensive than trading in the car. I ordered two backseat extenders, and they fill up the space perfectly. They are also firm enough so she can step on them and not have them collapse—important for arthritic legs. I throw a washable fleece cover over the whole, and she has a safe platform all to herself. If my son needs to sit in the backseat with her, he pops out one of the extenders to make room for his legs, and our old gal still feels safe. Also, there is just enough "give" to the extenders, so the car's front seats can be pushed back as needed when a front passenger needs more leg room. Simply a terrific product!

Orvis Best Buy!,

"WOW – What a fantastic product. My Airedale loves it and I love it. It fits perfectly in the back seat of my Mazda Tribute. After it's first try my dog was thrilled to be able to look out the window and have a solid surface to stand on. It works just as described. The microfiber covers are well made and seem to me that they will last. One great effect is that the seat cover that I have tucks easily in between the seat and the extender holding it in place. Again a terrific find and a great buy – Thanks Orvis!"

Dog heaven!,

"My 12-year-old German Shepherd Jack isn't as agile as he used to be and was beginning to have trouble turning around on the seat of my SUV. I bought 2 of these BackSeat extenders and your BackSeat Protector to create a wider and more comfortable place for him to ride. The extenders fit the footwells of my full-size SUV perfectly and still leave room to adjust the front seat. The XL Seat Protector covers the entire seat and stays in place better than anything else I've tried. The first time Jack climbed into his new nest he heaved a huge sigh of contentment, stretched out, and looked at me as if to say, "Let's get going!" I'd give these products 6 stars if I could."

"If you have a dog and it rides in the back seat this product is a must. Two GSDs and they love them as an extended seat and a great way to keep them off the floor in an emergency stop. If you don't have them you need them, they are a must have. Durable and easy to clean."

"We have a 2 year old female great dane who after i got my Ford f-250 didnt fit real well in the back with out falling forward. this extender fits great in the back with no problem or extra exertion. it also holds her wieght of about 130 pounds or so just fine even standing on it. the only problem for me is im going to need two for the truck and would possibly need three to fill the entire back seat. luckkily the baby takes up the other third of the seat."

Great Product!,

"I have a 13 year old, chocolate lab and he rides everywhere with me. He weighs 95 lbs., so he is a pretty big boy, and needed something to within stand his weight. I have a small SUV/crossover and he was always riding with his back legs on the seat and his front paws in the floor board. He was always uncomfortable. When I found these, it was the answer I was looking for! It was a great investment. I bought two, one to go behind each seat. The only down side is they are not long enough to cover the entire floor board. There is a small opening where he slips, so I have put a couple of thick towels in the open space to take up some of the room. But overall, a great buy for my lab."

Great for comfort and stabiity!,

"We have a 2005 Toyota Sienna mini-van, which has 2 bucket seats in the second row. They're great for humans because both seats are near the sliding door on each side, which makes it much easier to get into -- as opposed to the offset 2/3 bench seat of our old Ford van.. My various Labs loved the bench seat, but not these bucket seats. . Now, however, not only is there an "abyss" between the front seats and the second row, there is another abyss between the two seats. The backseat extender allows Diesel to curl up and not hang off the bucket seat, and is firm enough for him to put his front feet on when poking his nose out the window. The cardboard box I put between the two seats couldn't stand up to his 75 lbs, so the other day I moved the extender to between the two seats and inverted plastic baskets between the two rows of seats. He loves having a "bench seat", so now I'm ordering a second extender to replace the plastic baskets. Diesel will be SO HAPPY!"

"I purchased 2 of these a couple of months ago, we have 2 Bouviers, one is 5 the other is 10 months old & they love to go in our Jeep Grand Cherokee, they both have room to lay down or stand. This is such an amazing product even if they don't meet in the middle, fold a cushion in half, that works. Well worht the money."

"We have five dogs(Duke, a Great Pyrenes; Big Daddy, a Pit/Charpei rescue; Maggie, a Doxie; Lucy and Jack, 2 Jack Russells), and take frequent road trips to Northern Arizona to beat the heat--these backseat extenders are a life saver! No more dogs falling between the seats! They all sleep like rocks! Great investment, thanks Orvis!"

A big help... No more paws slipping,
December 31, 2011
By: aboy

"First day in use.. Very positive result for our older gal. She did not have to keep trying to get traction from the plastic door panel. She stood and laid both front paws on the foam. It gave us relief to know she isn't struggling.
The reason for a 4 star is regarding fit... I drive a Volvo XC70 and am on the short side, this block would not work if my husband drives.
To install: I moved my seat completely forward and then pressed my seat button. I can only move the seat back a few inches more before the foam doesn't give.
The 12in width needs to offer better flexibility in my opinion. I would suggest Orvis look at a blend of materials, this solid foam with memory foam. This would allow a better range of seat movement and fit in more vehicles. We are going to keep this as it works"

"Very disappointed that it doesn't fit in my 2011 BMW X3. I don't believe it fits in most of the cars and SUVs like it says in the description.
Returning it. Wasted my time and I have to pay the shipping cost.

My dogs travel in style!,

"I love this product. I purchased two of them for my Honda CR-V. They fit perfectly and I didn't end up with any space in between that needed filling. They are very firm and surprisingly nice to look at.
My golden retrievers love having the flat surface without having to worry about falling into the floor space. My 8 month old puppy seems to prefer to lie on these rather that the seat, so they must be really comfortable."

life saver!,

"I have a great dane who must ride right behind me in the car, despite all the room in the back of my Toyota Sequoia. Before the seat extender, she was always uneasy and falling off the bucket seats in the middle row (and yes, there's a HUGE back cargo area behind these seats but she simply refuses!). After purchasing the backseat extender, I did have to work a bit to get it in place, but it fits snugly behind the passenger side--- it is stable and secure enough to put some real weight on it. My dane now lounges in the bucket seat and extender so she's able to put her head on the front seat console to be right by me. Yes, she's spoiled, but even if she wasn't she would feel a lot more comfortable and secure with this backseat extender in place. I've also washed the cover over 10 times with the fabric (though it appears quite thin) looking good as new. Love it!"

Comfortable,

"The seat extender has allowed my Cocker Spaniel, Guinness, to be more comfortable and at ease in the car. For the first time, on the trip we took last week, she was lying down on the back seat on her Orvis futon supported by the wedge. She couldn't be happier and I was relieved that she didn't spend the whole trip sitting with her front legs braced and her head hanging down around her paws!"

The best I've found,
July 15, 2011

"I've looked for years for something that is both solid and comfortable to fill the back seat gap for my 90 pound Bouvier. This is outstanding. I like that they are in two pices too, so you can use one or both.
We're using them in our Honda Oddesy and the fit well with front seats a little forward (which is where I like them). When we want the front seats further back, we just move them back and the foam depresses to accommodate them.
The covers aren't flimsy, but wouldn't last with a lot of dog paw and claw contact, but I think most people use a seat cover and many of them can extend over the seat extenders. Something like beach towel would help protect them too."

"Have been looking for something like this for a while. I like that you can take the cover off and put it in the wash. It fix's very good behind our sit in our truck. We have a full size truck and i didn't think it would fit. Our dog just love's that she can stand on it, lay all the way out on it. It even give her room to get down to her bowl of water and food that we have on the floor on the other side of the back sit. It even work's well when you want to lay down in the back for us kid's or for us big kid's. Wish that i had have this when i had my leg work on, it would have been so easy to lay out without falling off the sit. Will have to order one more for the other truck. Would tell other people about this item. Thank You"
