"We had tried several other Orvis beds for our dog, but he would only sleep by the side of them- they seemed too spongy for him. He loves this bed and stretches out on it very happily. The bed is very well made, looks great, and he likes it so much we are going to buy a second one for upstairs. The only con to my mind is that the cover while removable is quite bulky and hard to machine wash but otherwise this is a great purchase"

"Sorry to say I have the same opinion as the other 2 reviews previous to mine. The bed is made very well, and is quite beautiful, however my dog doesn't really like it as it is too hard I believe. I thought he would spread out on it but without extra padding added to it (blankets, pillows, etc.) he avoids it. My other dog took over the other bed I purchased (Dogs own lounger) so now I think I should return this one and get another (larger) lounger for the first dog! This bed might work for dogs that lay on the floor and never had a bed before or it might be great to use in the back of an SUV (which I don't have)."

"I agree with the first review. My wife and I purchased this bed as a Christmas gift for our Basset. It is a handsome bed and put together very well. Everything about its appearance and construction is exceptional, but to our dismay our dog would rather sleep on the floor beside it."

"This is a well made bed: fabric, tailoring, evenness and fullness of stuffing and overall manufacture were all top notch. It's a great looking bed; unfortunately none of my four dogs would lie on it. The foam in the bottom cushion is QUITE firm, which perhaps is why my dogs still prefer their big, sprawling Orvis Deluxe Comfort Couch."
