"I have used this rod for Redfish for the past two years. It is easy on the casting arm, yet can handle a stiff breeze and big flies when needed. Perfect for stalking Reds either from foot or the front of a skiff."

Bringing the big one in.
"Living in the Northeast provides opportunities to catch a wide variety of saltwater species. Striped Bass, Bluefish, Altlantic Bonito, False Albacore and many other bottom dwelling species. I've cast and caught all of the above with my TLS Power Matrix 909-2 fly rod! On the right day I've fished this rod hard from sunup to sundown and sometimes all night long! I come home and my arm is no longer sore from all the casting required. I own many brands of nine weight fly rods and retired them all after using the Power Matrix. The rod in mid flex design loads extremely well after one false cast and shoots larger salt water patterns with ease. I now own several line weights in the Power Matrix lineup. Last year one of them needed to be serviced and the Orvis customer service went above and beyond the call to correct the problem. I would rate this product with ten stars if I could!"

"This is by far the toughest most powerfull 9wt rod you will ever cast. Fishing the mid-west for salmon and steelhead you need a forgiving and very accurate casting rod. The TLS Power Matirix 909-2 combines both atrubitues to deliver the perfect rod for the weekend warrior or for a first time caster. IF you are looking for a do-all rod this is it."

"This rod is as tough as it gets. One of the lightest 9 weights on the market, and so easy to cast. I have literally fished this rod all day catching large snook, and let me tell you, they can do some damage to your gear. With this rod you can cast to ANY size fish and know you will land it after a hard fight. Orvis hit it on the head describing this as a powerful fly rod. If you think you need a tip flex 9 weight to get a great saltwater rod, give this one a try. The mid flex 8.0 will get your line where it needs to go even through a strong wind with ease. You can do so much with the TLS Power Matrix 909-2 mid 8.0. Put it this way, every time I'm heading home from a day of fishing with this rod, I can't wait to use it again! The 25 inch snook in the picture was caught on my 909-2 with a Battenkill mid arbor V reel and Wonderline WF9F weight line."
