Salt Water Tyers Go-To Hook, July 4, 2009

"This classic salt water hook has become a standard with my tying buddies. The hook is reliably strong. While sharp out of the box, I personally sharpen them with a hone (not a coated hook so this is ok!) The price is very reasonable. I use it for Deceivers, Clousers, Seaducers, Charlies, Spun Deer Hair Patterns, and most flies that use a medium shank length. It is too short for hard body poppers, and too long for synthetic baitfish (EP)patterns. This is a stainless steel hook; if you prefer the same hook, but non-stainless steel, it is Mustad 3407."
