"My wife bought me this rod for a present...I had always wanted a shorter rod for the small streams here in central Vermont...and in the Kingdom where I do most of my fishing...only one word...OUTSTANDING... a definate must for the small stream angler."

"I bought this rod to fish trout on small streams and bluegill on ponds. It casts like a dream. I learnt on a slower rod and the fast rods sold today just don't feel right. I spend one afternoon casting into a stiff wind and it was fun. This 3 wt. did a better job of putting the line out than my bigger faster rods.
Finish is beautiful."

"I BOUGHT THIS ROD ALONG WITH THE 664-3 SUPERFINE ROD AND I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT THIS ROD HAS GREAT FEEL AND BACKBONE AT THE SAME TIME. VERY BEAUTIFUL COMPONENTS LIKE ALL THE SUPERFINES AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY. THE ONLY ASPECT OF THE ROD I DON'T LIKE IS THAT IT'S A 2 PIECE , SO IT DOES NOT PACK VERY SMALL, BUT THAT MIGHT BE ONE REASON WHY THE ACTION IS SO SMOOTH. I GUESS I'M JUST SPOILED FROM THE OTHER SUPERFINES. ACTUALLY, FOR THOSE WHO WANT A VERY TRADITIONAL SMALL STREAM GRAPHITE ROD, THE 2 PIECE CONSTRUCTION ALONG WITH THE LENGTH AND LINE WEIGHT ARE THE PERFECT MIXTURE. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."

"i have wanted this rod for quite awhile finally purchased it along with a BB1 reel, what a great feel of the two combined and yes you can litterly watch your dry gently touch the water, hook into a 18 inch brown and the beauty of it all just begins,it really is a (superfine) piece of equipment thank you orvis and please keep up the quality work"
