Pretty good boot,

"I bought these boots to deal with the Snowpocalypse that hit DC, and the melt that is sure to follow. The boots are really warm, and extremely easy to get on and off for a rubber boot. They don't get nearly as wet on the inside as other rubber boots I've worn. I have noticed however that they are much much more slippery on ice than regular shoes or boots. They also run large, I wear a size 9, and ordered a size 8, which fits nice with mid to thick weight socks. Finally, like another reviewer noticed, the boots are a really green, not dark or light green, but GREEN-- and wide, but hey they're rubber boots, right? Bottom line: great value for a quality and convenient boot."

"I've used these boots for over a year and they have taken everything thrown at them and have proven themselves to be durable and comfortable. The zip up and gusseted sides make getting in an out of these so much easier than other calf high boots. From hunting to photographing wetland birds, these boots are hard to beat. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a good value rubber boot that is easy to get on or off."

"When I received my order from Orvis I cursed, thinking that I had been sent a different boot than I ordered. Thats how different the picture on the web-sight is from the actual appearance of the boot. This variance is caused by the positioning of the boot and the bright three point lighting used in the pic., which (on the white background) causes the boot to look far lighter in color than it actually is. The picture also has a sliming affect on the sole of the boot that is a little bit heavy/bulky. It should be noted that the characteristics of the boot here before mentioned are not detractors for all customers or in all situations; my main issue was that I was under the impression that I was purchasing one thing and got something else. It should also be mentioned in the description that these boots are produced by Bogs. I wear a 10 in a slew of other footwear and found the Orvington to be a bit roomy, however if you plan on wearing your Smartwools (aka live in a cold place) the sizing would be dead on. If I was using them to muck around the mud-flat in the summer, they would be slightly roomy. The boots are very, very comfortable and of a soft, yet seemingly tough rubber. I have a problem getting the zipper up the final two inches and fear that it may break down the road. So, summation time: at the sale price this boot is a good value, know when ordering... this boot is very dark in coloration as well as being more bulky than it appears, it is made by bogs, it is comfortable, it runs roomy if you plan on wearing thin socks, and one of my zippers is rather suspect. Having said all this, I am keeping my pair because of the comfort and because I don't care enough about the color to send them back. I'll also trust Orvis with regard to the boot's construction (for now) because I haven't had their equipment fail in the past."

An easy on-and-off boot,

"The Orvinton boot is a high quality waterproof boot that is easy to get on and off. The side zipper feature makes this boot so much easier to slip on, and the ankle fit of the boot makes for comfortable walking -- not always the case in rubber boots. It has ample room at the calf, great for when you wear heavy clothing, but a bit large for normal use. These boots also have much more support and a heavier sole than the average calf-height rubber boot. This is a great wet weather boot!"
