Sold alone, the grab bag items would cost at least twice as much. No two grab bags are alike. Each contains a random selection of choice materials such as hairs, feathers, tinsel, Flashabou, marabou. "My experience with Orvis tying materials and the previous customer's product reviews led to buy one. I figure hey, it'll be fun to see what I get & I know I'm not losing any money. The items individually purchased price will exceed the cost of the bag. I've bought two of these large ones over a four month period. In both bags I saved money as promised. Here's what I didn't expect in the bags...75% of the items within are Wapsi products not Orvis, any beads & dumbells so far have been lead and lastly the bags are pretty much the same. I received four exact item/color duplicates between the two bags. The other items were all the same, but different colors styles. Here's some examples from both bags...Thin-skin, thread, mylar, sz 20 fly hackle, matched feathers for winging. Now while it was the same item per se, it was a different type, color, size. There is variety. Buy one and your good. Buy two and you'll compare; just remember to be objective when doing so."

"I am new to flyfishing and flytying, and I bought this hoping to have a variety of items on hand for new and different variations to the flies I do know how to tie. The bag Orvis put together for me was great and I have made use of many of the items. It is well worth what you pay for it, and Orvis ships superfast."

"There were a few duds included in this grab bag but mostly it was pretty good. It included some bead heads, a bead chain some marabou, some green strung hackle and a few other items that i probably never would have bought on my own but now i am happy to have them. Also included were some mystery items, like two sheets of plastic about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long. not sure what thats for, but overall this was a pretty good deal. I got the medium, i kinda wish i got the large. Its only $5 more..."

"I write these as I see them I Purchased three sets. One for each of my sons and one for myself. figured with all the thousands of different combinations out there we'd get a great selection. With a lot of new things to play around with. Well it could be a great value but all three sets were almost identical We received a ton of duplicate items in each set x 3 sets. Some items were just plain funny. We ended up with 12 small sheets of stickers Why?. 12 tiny packages of small red feathers. 6 packages of very large plastic beads. 6 packages with 1 large feather in each. Well you get the idea. out of the 75 items Almost half are listed above. There were a few nice items like Holographic tubing but I expected a lot more of a variety"

"The Item description is right on the money, enough materials for hundreds of flies, but cheaper than buying each item seperately. I did the math for my bag, it would've cost me $79 for all that was included. My bag included 7 sizes of hooks as well."
