Haven't Found Anything Better, April 15, 2009
By: ERWin from Northern Michigan

"This tippet material is the best I can find. I occasionally buy other brands when a spool of my SuperStrong runs out...usually the 5/6x. However, I always try to get back to this product as soon as possible. This material is extremely strong and durable. I tie a lot of my own leaders and this holds a knot very well and turns just about any fly depending on how you tie your leader. I use this for all my fly fishing, all the way from 25lb for leader butts for Great Lakes salmon down to the 7 & 8x for tiny dries."

The Tippet Material I keep going back to, April 14, 2008
By: Luv2Fly from Richardson, TX

"I started out fishing with Super Strong leader and tippet material and have tried several other brands. I keep going back to Super Strong. I like the balance of stiffness to turn over heavier flies and the suppleness to delicately present smaller dries. It is strong, wears extremely well and holds a knot. The material stretches just enough to provide good leader shock but not too much to loose leader sensitivity and response. I stock all the sizes and build my own leaders...great stuff!"

Everyday use, February 22, 2008
By: Muskrat from Oakville, ON

"This is the tippet material I use every day. It's good, reliable and strong. Fasten to your leader with an ORVIS tippet knot (refer to the 'animated knots' section on flyfishing home page of this website), and it keeps you going all day long. Would like to see it in a 100yd version."

An improvement, October 26, 2007
By: Thetrier from Northern Virginia/DC - not famous for trout

"I never thought there could be much difference in tippet. Then I found a muddy creek last May that surprised me with a number of fast hits that each left me with a broken tippet. I moved up to 6X and the hits stopped. I had just bought a spool of this because it was the only 7X I could find so I tied some on and found it much more forgiving. It takes a while to straighten and lose its memory, even after using a straightener, but its definitely stronger. Managed to hook into a couple of nice fish and keep my fly."

The only tippet you will ever need, October 4, 2007
By: Caddistrophic

"Dollar for dollar, this is the best and most economical tippet on the market. It has excelllent strength and virtually no memory. It is so good, that I almost exclusively use 6X for all of my fishing. (I only move up in tippet size for casting ease for streamers.) I regularly catch 16-18 inch trout on Wisconsin spring creeks (known for their exceptionally strong brown trout) without every having to worry about breaking fish off."
