"Great product all around. Perfect addition to the Clearwater (stockingfoot) waders because it adds a gravel guard (not present on the Clearwater waders) and an extra barrier against seepage in cold streams. Also excellent for summer wet wading to keep the grit out of your boots and prevent blisters. The shape of the sock is much more ergonomic than other brands I have used in the past, making for a much more comfortable fit in the boot. I also like the fact that the gravel guard is sewn to the sock. The "fold-over" versions offered by other companies tend to crack over time. The only design modification I might suggest would be a slightly tighter-fitting ankle on the sock itself. As these seem to run true to size, sizing down really is not an option."

Perfect for Those Warmer Days,

"These are just exactly what I needed for those warm summer days in the mountains. They fit perfectly into my wading boots, fit my feet well, and kept the gravel out for the most part. A pair of wading socks worn in them helps to keep the gravel out entirely if you have skinny ankels. I expected the gravel guards to be the top of the sock folded over like other brands, but instead, Orvis attached their existing guards to the ergonomic socks of their waders with some heavy stiching in the front. This allows for better fit using the velcro wrap of their original guards. All in all a great compromise of fit and function. I felt like I was wearing the stockings and guards of my Orvis waders without the whole wader on. Exactly what I hoped for!"

"These socks are indeed comfortable and they keep the gravel and sand out of your boots. The velcro fasteners are a great way to adjust the socks to the situation at hand and are certainly easy to use. However, because the socks are attractive to velcro, they also attract seeds and burrs and take time to clean after walking to the water."
