"This robe exceeds its rating as I live in it most of the year, indoors as well as outside. I live in the mountains of Slovakia and mornings are chilly all year long. The style makes it passable as a yard coat, keeps out the chill, withstands my four dogs wear and tear and washes like a deam. My only wish is for Orvis to still carry the charcoal color as it hid the dirt better when carrying in the wood logs for my fireplace."

"I was looking for a very warm robe and this robe definitely is. I am very satisfied with this robe. It keeps me warm from top to bottom. Sometimes I wear it over my regular clothing if it is cold indoors. It is also soft, but I find it to be somewhat itchy if worn alone. Seems to be oversized as I am medium and it is roomy on me."

"I have two of these robes, an old one in yellow and one in mauve. How I wish it came in some brighter colors...I keep hanging on to the old yellow one, holes and all, because the color is so cheery on chilly days. They are comfy and easy with the snaps and the soft nap."

"This is the was the hit of christmas. Excellent for an older person because it keeps them warm and cozy. I bought two for my mom cause she lives in these robes. She even wears them over her clothes on particularly cold days. Very special wonderful robe. Great for someone with limitations."

"I bought one robe in blue and enjoyed it so much I bought another in mauve. I am 5'7'' and the robe covers my ankles. It is warm, soft and very comfortable. It is perfect for cold winters. Only problem on both robes a snap fell off in the same place, but an extra comes with the robe. Anything you but at Orvis is excellent quality."

"This is the best robe, it is warm and washes very well. The only problem is that the snap fell off the day after I received it. I called customer service and they sent another one and were so very nice.
I hope this snaps don't fall off again..I am going to order my mother one for Xmas present because the quality of the fabric is so nice. I sure hope her snaps don't fall off..."

"I have been serching via the internet for a robe that would be warm, comfortable and easy to wear. So far, I have returned four robes from other companies. The robe from Orvis is not going back! If you are worried about the polyester fleece. let me say it is very toasty without being uncomfortable. Not too warm. The color(dusty purple) is really a nice, soft color. I told my husband to get me another one for Christmas. Like everyone else, I'm afraid you will stop making them."

My cozy Robe
"I have had one of these robes for 5 (or more?) years. When I bought my first one you only had 2 colors beige and gray. This is by far the best robe I have ever owned! My house has tall ceilings and we try to conserve heat in the winter. On winter evenings to stay warm, I wear this robe all the time. It is long enough.... It is cozy ... It washes like new every time but my gray one has to go. If you hold it up to daylight you can see through it and the cuffs have holes in them. I ordered a new one today. My Husband will no longer call me the Russian Army woman all dressed for winter... I don't think the Russian Army wears Dusty Purple. With this robe you get what you pay for. Thanks for a great product. I've sent you my picture."

"I have two of these...loved them both until the snaps starting coming off within weeks of purchasing them! Although they came with one set of replacements, those too didn't last, and I couldn't get any further replacements, which is why I can't give this a better score.
My suggestion would be to either have buttons instead (at least you can replace those with something easily available and all that's required is a needle and threat instead of a setting tool). It's really too bad because these are lovely and warm...but because of those darned snaps...I can't recommend it wholeheartedly."

"I have purchased 2 of these robes and they are absolutely brilliant apart from one small problem. After many cold water washes in accordance with the instruction label, I am somewhat disappointed that the white collar and cuffs have 'bobbled' and discoloured and it is impossible to get them back to pristine condition. I would welcome any help or advice on this matter."

"This is a lovely robe BUT -- the snaps come apart and fall off the robe! Orvis supplies two extra snaps but you would obviously need special equipment to attach them. Even if you have the where-with-all to attach new snaps two are no where near enough. You are left with a beautiful, warm robe that you can't close."

"I have been looing everywhere for a long winter robe that snaps up the front. I ordered this robe and it's wonderful. I'm 5'6" and this robe comes down to my ankles providing extra warmth for my legs. The knit cuffs and collar are great for keeping armsand upper body warm. The cut is generous and very comfortable. It's like wearing a light weight blanket. It can get pretty chilly here in Northern California and this robe really fills the bill, I love it. It's probably the best winter robe I've ever had. It's worth every penny. I recommend it to anybody who is looking for a warm, comfortable robe."
