Viyella® Shirts

Viyella® Shirts

The vivid color, soft hand, and sturdy weave of luxurious Viyella® shirt fabric result from a process that began in 1784, just outside Nottingham, England. The process spins together a blend of 80% long–staple, combed pima cotton and 20% Australian merino wool fibers. The perfect blend of these two select fibers creates a yarn that brings Viyella fabric its signature combination of a smooth hand and durability that only betters with age. Button-down collar. Patch pocket. Two–button cuffs. In navy, yellow, autumn, brown check, natural, burgundy, vicuna, wine multi, dusty olive, multi houndstooth, moss/rust, olive/burgundy. Cotton/wool. Washable. USA/Imported.Sizes: M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52).

Bold, January 12, 2009
By: JDW1

"I got the autumn color version of this shirt. I had never seen this fabric before, so I was a little surprised when it arrived. I would not recommend buying this without seeing it first in person because the colors are quite vivid. I like the shirt but it is much bolder than I expected, and verges on being loud. It is something you'll want for casual occasions to be sure. If you don't mind standing out a bit, then it is a very nice shirt."

Style, form and function meet, December 11, 2008
By: Pumakawak

"Initially the price tag put me off... then I took the opportunity afforded me by a sale and purchased one. From that moment on all resistence to this fabric and shirt ended! The herringbone weave is light yet very strong. The shirt requires no special treatment, I hot water wash it with like colors and machine dry it. After 1 year of that kind of treatment I can report: no shinkage, miniscule fading and a delightfull softening of the fabric which makes it my first choice from the closet! It's worth the cost!"

Excellent Value, December 1, 2008
By: Gary from Forest, Va.

"I own 6 different colors of this marvelous shirt.
Everyone remarks on them as they look and wear so well even after many washings. Roomy and just plain comfortable...... You won't regret paying a bit more for these, well worth it."

Can't Wait!, October 11, 2008
By: montanaman from Big Timber, Montana

"Every year I can't wait for the new Viyella Shirt patterrns so I can add them to my wardrobe. They are my favorite three season shirts here in Montana. Extremely comfortable, sharply tailored, they wear like iron and are complemented by my clients and associates frequently. A little pricey but once you own one you will appreciate their value."

Very nice colors, September 11, 2008
By: Labrador

"The colors in this shirt are extremely vibrant without being gaudy, perhaps the nicest thing about it. The feel of the material is not only sturdy but also silky. The shirt has NOT gone through several washings yet, but it looks like it will hold up based on the quality of the workmanship. My husband loves this shirt and thinks it goes really well with the washable suede jacket that Orvis sells."

Most confortable shirt ever, October 5, 2007
By: Preston

"I have worn viyella blend shirts for the last twenty years and I have found them the most comfortable in my wardrobe. As I am fairly active and public, I like a light weight shirt that is warm and light, and still looks neat. The viyella meets all of these criteria."

A really comfortable shirt, October 4, 2007
By: Winchester97 from Bradenton, FL

"My Natural Viyella shirt has quickly become one of my favorite shirts. The soft fabric and fuller cut make it one of the most comfortable shirts I've ever worn. For me, the fabric weight requires cooler weather, which we don't have enough of in the South. But when its cool, I'm wearing this shirt! Perfect for southeastern fall/winter, or that South Dakota pheasant hunt. The tan and green check on cream colored background looks great, too. The shirt requires a little extra care (no machine steam pressing) but the comfort is well worth it."

GREAT SHIRT, October 4, 2007
By: Gulfstreamflier

"I received this shirt as a gift and love it. The fabric blend is so comfortable. I used to wear Viyella shirts as a lad growing up in Scotland and the quality is "top drawer," just as I remember it."
