"I own an earlier version of this - leather closure at the top with strap & buckle.
Positive: Very attractive, easy to pack & transport.
Negative: Canvas fabric "bleeds" green, shows wear excessively. Guns kept in case more than 12 hours begin to rust, as case apparently doesn't breathe. "Brass" fittings corrode. The canvas on my case rotted and ripped; the handle came off in my hand. There is a kind of heavy-duty paperboard forming the edge on the bottom of the case and when the fabric ripped, this was exposed. It too had begun to deteriorate; had become very brittle and split.
When not in use, this case was stored in a glass front gun cabinet in my climate-controlled home.
Disclosure: I owned the case ~10 years, but used it only sparingly during that time, perhaps a couple of dozen trips to the range & field. Admittedly, 10 years is a bit of time, but I have other cases twice that age that are still in good shape.
Recommendations: If not already done, consider modifying shell to allow the case to breathe. Can't tell from catalog photo's but if case unzips all the way, great; else if not, you might want to add a full length zipper so the case can be aired out.
Applause: Catalog picture shows leather reinforcement extending from the handle down - it'd be great if this were a continuous piece around the case (even if secured by a buckle so the case could be opened up completely) as this would offer much better support than the handle sewn to the canvas alone."
