"This was the fourth pair of Donegal tweed pants I've ordered over several years, because the fabric is beautiful and warm and wears forever, the style is classic, and the fit--up until this last pair--perfect. I ordered, as I always have, a 12P. Instead of the 28" inseam of past pants, or the 28 1/2" specified in the catalog, or the 29" customer service told me, I measured the inseam to be 30". The waist had also expanded an inch or more since the last pair I bought. Because I love them so much--the brown tweed is especially, subtly gorgeous--I paid (more than I saved on the sale) to have them altered. (I tried 10P, but they were a bit tight and still a little long in the legs.)"

"I ordered these because their customer rating and reviews overcame my hesitation about Donegal tweed and my concerns about fit. I was delighted to find I was wrong and all the reviews were correct. The tweed is softer than I expected, warm but not hot, and has both substance and give, so the lined fabric drapes very well while hanging straight in the legs. I ordered both colors and was surprised that the brown tweed was finer and more subdued than the coarser black. Maybe there's some variation, because the black Donegal pants were darker and more contrasty than the "matching" jacket I ordered simultaneously. I like both pant colors, but I'm especially delighted by the combination of the muted brown tweed with my Orvis camel hair jacket--perfect! I ordered the pants in two sizes; I'm glad to say the smaller size (12) worked best on my 5-foot-6, 155-pound frame. And contrary to the very straight silhouette in the photo, the pants conform nicely to my somewhat curvy figure. All the details enhance the flattering fit and wearability: front zip, flat waistband (no belt loops), usable side pockets, an inconspicuous back pocket that buttons flat, and a choice of inseams. I couldn't have asked for more. Thanks, Orvis, for another awesome find--and for a great selection of well-tailored clothes. While other stores keep pushing the misbegotten trend of lowered waistlines, you've held the line where it naturally falls, so your pants flatter women's figures and move well with the body. As for price, I'm glad your seasonal discounts put more items within my range, but please lower your shipping charges to a reasonable flat rate rather than penalizing larger orders."

"These are beautiful pants. They feel great and fit great. Wonderful quality. They're lined, great pockets, perfect length for a petite. Pricey, but they'll last 4ever.
Excellent! If you're sitting on the fence, go for it! You won't regret it! I got the brown and they're a great colour.
I'd love to order the tweed seamed jacket, to go with but I'm reluctant because it's not available in petite. I'm not fond of the Cardigan jacket with no collar."

"Well, I first purchased the brown pair and then ended up buying the other two colors! This style has to be my all time favorite! Seriously, the quality of the tweed, the fit, and cut of the leg, I am telling you, do yourself a favor and try a pair......I love these! I wear them with cashmere sweaters, or I also own the Donegal Tweed Barn jacket in violet, and wear the matching pants with the matching cashmere sweater....... The Donegal Tweed pants have generated more oohs and ahhs than any other pair I own......"
