Great Starter, Burns up quick,

"Saw these at a friends house and was quite impressed. Order a 30 lb. box immediately. They are very easy to light and can really get your fire going. However my only complaint is that they burn up REALLY fast, so if you have some green wood you are trying to get started, they may burn up before you get it going. They have eliminated the need for kindling at our house. I will buy a box for next winter as well. Would make a great gift for anyone who burns a fire alot."

"I first discovered these on a film shoot. The prop people used them to keep a firerplace burning at a constant level throughout many takes of a scene that we were shooting. I asked what they were, and I've been using them to start my home fireplace ever since. It's easy and inexpensive. And it works!"

"I was introduced to fat wood when I was just a youngster and my dad would use it to start fires around the house. Today, I do the same, only now I also keep some in the truck to use with our woodgas camp stove. Just cut a few of the pieces in half that come in the box, and stow it anywhere you might need it. Have a fire anywhere.
Good stuff!"

"We have used your fatwood here in Sussex, England for several years, ever since we rented a house with a fireplace which didn't draw properly, which made lighting a fire extremely difficult. Fatwood solved our problems, and we have used it to light fires ever since - even now that we have a properly working fireplace. We wouldn't be without it."

"Flyfishing Montana means cold mornings and cold nights. There is no other way I would start my fires than with Orvis fatwood. Only a few sticks and a few minutes and my fire is blazing. Spring and Fall often display surprise rain and hail storms, but I never worry about that; my fatwood will start any wet wood with a little care. Forget all the newspaper and lighter fluid to start a fast fire, fatwood is Montana tough."

"Ordered two 30-lb. boxes of Fatwood for the cabin. On December 28th 2003 at 9:00 p.m. we arrived at our cabin in the mountains of northern New Mexico. It was -4 degrees. We needed to get the cabin warmed up quick. We had a roaring fire in the fireplace in about 10 minutes. It was the Fatwood that got it going so fast. Best sixty pounds of wood we've ever purchased."
