"Pills form very quickly on wear points: front and inside arms. Fit is roomy for a given size. It has a fairly loose weave, so it is warm in a still room. The elbow patches and pocket trim are a nice accent. I have paid 1/2 of this price for merino sweaters of higher quality."

"Had to return this sweater. Could not get the zipper to work. It kept getting caught in the fabric lining. Also, my wife told me I looked like grandpa when I had it on. That pretty much did it for me."

"The sweater arrived as expected with the usual prompt service from Orvis.
Upon opening the package, the sweater, even though carefully packaged, appeared already old. The Orvis label in the inside back of the sweater was poorly attached, and came off on one side within the first week. The wool itself did not seem to be as tightly woven as other sweaters I have.
The fit seems a bit loose, which I attribute to the character of the wool used in the sweater. It looked much better in the catalog and on-line than it does in actuality.
It is warm and comfortable, but, in my opinion, is just not on a par with other Orvis clothing items I have purchased.
