A pair of genuine buffalo nickels distinguishes this handsome leather belt. Worn from years of handling, one nickel displays the standing buffalo, the other showcases the Native American silhouette. The buffalo nickel, designed by James Earle Fraser, was introduced in 1913. Fraser used three different Native Americans as models and based the buffalo on Black Diamond, who lived in the New York City Zoo. Braided inlays. Engraved silver buckle. Rawhide stitching. In brown. 1¼" strap width tapers to 1". ImportedMen's even waist belt sizes: 32-46. Order one size larger than pants size.

"I love the look of this belt, HOW COOL IS A BUFFALO Nickle belt? It looks great but it didn't last long, probably due to a defect with the belt that I recieved. The stitching just beyond the belt loop holes caused the belt to develop a stress joint. It cracked and broke at that point. My belt lasted about 6 months of wear, It cracked after 1 month. For the price I woulda hoped it would've lasted longer. Hopefully it was just a stiching defect with mine, I hope you all fare better"

Drum Dyed Leather,

"I like the looks of this belt better than most others of similar design. One thing that was NOT mentioned the catalog was if the leather is drum dyed.
Why is this important for me? Drum dyed leather is dyed all the way through the leather so if it is scratched you don't see a different color off leather under the surface dye. Yes, it's more expensive to do but women (especially my wife) has always insisted on this with her purses.
It took one email on my part and lots of follow up from Orvis to contact the vendor. The answer is Yes - the belt is drum dyed. It's one of the reasons this belt could be the last belt you'll have to get."

"I received this belt as Christmas Gift 2 years ago.
The belt hole I use has completely torn out. I sent Orvis a complaint along with a picture of the belt a week ago with no followup on their part.
Very dissatified with the belt and would not recommend it to a friend.
This the first purchase from Oris that I have had a problem."

"I received my belt as a Christmas gift from my wife. I had to exchange for a larger size, from 34 to 36. The belt looks great. I would recommend the following treatment to give and maintain a soft and more pliable feel: I applied a double coat of Mink oil paste to the inside portion before wearing. The treatment made the leather softer and probably improves longivity."

"Have been wearing this item for several months now and it is finally getting broken in. Well made, strong and has a very nice finish. Am very pleased with this item. Agree with other comments about sizing, you need to order at least one size up from your normal trouser size and if your trousers are tight on the waist , possiby even two sizes.Other than that no issues at all."

"OK, first a disclaimer: Buffalo is my home, so I am partial to this belt from the get-go. Hometown bias aside, this is no ordinary casual belt. The fabric inlay design and intricate leather work are top quality without being over the top. The section of the belt with the notches is slightly narrower than the rest of the belt, which means that you don't need a honkin' buckle, which suits me fine as I prefer a more understated style. The buckle features a nice filigree design which finishes the look. The buffalo nickel is an iconic American classic and, for my ten cents, these two nickels are put to good use on this belt. You might want to size up. My pants are 33 or 34 waist. I bought the 34 belt and it is on the last notch. (Guess I'd better hold the line there!)"

"The buffalo nickel belt is both an attractive belt and of excellent construction. The reduced size of the belt at the buckle makes it very user friendly. My wife complimented on how nice it looked. The one important thing that needs to be changed is that you need to order 2 inches larger than your waist size."
