Since 1913, New Zealand's Swanndri company has been famous for water-resistant, durable, comfortable natural wool clothing. This handsome vest, an iconic favorite of New Zealand outdoorsmen and farmers, is made of water- and wind-resistant boiled wool fabric that provides superior warmth and utility. Available in the USA exclusively from Orvis. Zip front with two zippered front pockets. Slightly longer tail in back, distinctive Swanndri logo on right chest. Unlined. In navy, forrest green. Pure wool. Hand wash. Imported. Sizes: M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52), XXXL(54-56).

Great fall and winter vest, September 4, 2009

"I like to wear vests when the weather turns cool or cold. Most of mine are fleece, and I wanted something in actual wool. The quality of this wool is outstanding. This does well under a shell jacket or parka. I wear it frequently on trips--just the right amount of insulation when you have to jump out of the car in the winter for a short period of time but don't want to struggle into a serious coat. Great for hiking, working or playing outdoors."

"This is a solidly built vest. No frills, just plain practical and well constructed garment. Comfortable and good fit, too. The quality of the material is also very nice and able to stand up to a lot of use. I haven't regretted my purchase at all, I quite enjoy wearing this vest. Recommended!"

"Terrific vest. No extraneous features, just great tailoring, super fabric and rugged construction. Slim profile works under a jacket or as an outer garment. Strong zippers, large pockets. Typical functional New Zealand understatement !"

"The vest is as advertised. It fits a bit big but then 3x's are hard to find. The stitching is very good and the pockets are deep. I would definetly recommend this to anyone!"
