"This skirt has a comfortable waistband, the fabric is a good color and weight, and I like the length. Unhappily, the hem turned up all around the first time I washed it. I was very careful to take the skirt out of the dryer before it was fully dry in order to hang it, but it was already turned up. Now, it doesn't want to stay down. I don't think a skirt of this price should have been designed with such a flaw. My daughter's $20.00 denim skirts wash beautifully. A bit straighter of a cut (less fabric in the hips) would be more flattering as well."

"I had been looking for a black denim skirt just like this and was thrilled to finally find yours. Orvis is one of my very favorite ordering sites but so often I have to return or exchange because of sizing. I would never wear a small in any other skirt but this medium was way too large. Your choices of sizes kept me from exchanging the skirt. Sizes were also scanty for this skirt in your new spring catalog.
Sizing in much of your clothing needs to be adjusted."

"I have purchases Orvis skirts for years, I ordered a new skirt, as the one I have has faded in June 2009 and have just received it. I ordered the same size as the one I have, when the skirt arrived I tried it on and it did not fit. I measured it aginst the old skirt and it is 2-3 smaller.
I am very disappointed, I have been purchasing Orvis skirts for a long time now."

"I LOVE this skirt. I have two - one in blue and one in black and they're the mainstay of my every day wardrobe. I couldn't live without these. They fit well, wash up very well and are GREAT value for the money. Orvis skirts are my all time favorite skirts."

"I have bought this same skirt for years...I am a big denim skirt fan and probably have 7 or 8 orvis denim skirts in my closet... Just bought this one (to replace the exact same one that was fading) before our recent vacation. Thank goodness I tried it on before packing. They have totally changed the shape of this skirt. It is much narrower and unacceptable fit in my book. I brought it to the local orvis store to return it. Perhaps a new manufacturer? I am dismayed that my favorite skirt may become a memory! What a bummer. The description says it is "One of our most popular skirts, a gored sweep of soft cotton denim that's surprisingly slenderizing." Why do they have to change it up?"

"I am very pleased with this skirt. It fits well and is indeed of a slimmer cut than most of the other choices in denim or A-Line styles offered here. Note: I initially ordered a Large, based on measurements and past orders, but found that it was too big. A Medium is just about right - fits around the waist but is not tight. Tops look good tucked in with a belt or bloused over the waist.
I've washed the skirt and hung it to dry after a quick 5-minute spin in the dryer. It looks great, with no wrinkles, and I don't anticipate it getting very wrinkled either - the denim fabric is of high quality & weight but not too heavy. It's comfortable to wear in my warm climate but I could see wearing this skirt year-round in colder areas."

"The quality of this skirt is great, and I love the comfort and ease of the elastic waist--so easy to just pull on the skirt. I was thrilled to see it in petite sizes; however, once I tried it on, I was surprised to see how long the skirt is. I keep checking to make sure I ordered a petite--I did. I also find I'm between sizes with this skirt--fits just a little big. So I'm still debating whether or not to keep it and hem it..ugh...and hope it shrinks a little or exchange it for a smaller size which then may be too small. I'll probably return it because for this amount I don't want to hem it."

"This skirt is well-made, the fabric has a nice, heavy feel without literally being heavy, and it is, as it says in the description, slimming. My one word of caution would be to email or live chat Orvis re: the actual measurements of the skirt, because I found the first one I ordered to be quite a bit bigger than the size chart suggested (both length and waist), and I ended up exchanging it for one size smaller in Petite--I'm 5'4", and the regular Large came almost to the floor on me."

"I've been wearing this skirt for several seasons. When I'm not sure what to wear, this is the one I pull out. The weight of the denim gives it the look of sturdiness, but it's comfortable in warm weather and cool alike. The tailored cut allows me to wear it to work. It's hard to find ANY denim skirts anywhere, and this one meets my needs for the length, the elastic waist, good-size pockets, and fabric that doesn't fade or wear out."
