"This bag took me through graduate school most of the time toting around 20 pounds of books. It looks great and is incredibly durable. There is plenty of room for my laptop and anything else I need to haul around. Our family has purchased a number of Battenkill bags over the years and has not been disappointed."

"I have traveled around the world with the businessman's backpack and have received many compliments. The quality is good -- except -- the lush green color that I bought turned into a faded light green that looks a little dingey. I am a big fan of Orvis, and this is my first disappointment."

"I have to say that I'm a power user of this backpack. I carry it with me pretty much everywhere. But I have gone through 2 of these backpacks in 4 years.
Both of the packs faded to an army like green color on the top, sides and front that isn't nearly as nice as the beautiful forest green color the pack still has on the back. Both of my packs also developed holes in the bottom, especially on the backside where the pack hits your back.
I wish that Orvis would do something about the fading. I think the pack developing holes after 2 years is reasonable. But I don't think I'm going to pay out another 150 plus for another pack that will probably fade after about 6 months.
I've posted a picture that shows the holes and how faded the straps are compared to the back."

"I chose the businessman's backpack because I wanted to be able to carry a laptop, plus papers, plus wallet, toiletries, pens and knitting. I was very pleased with it at first -- size, capacity, weight, ease of carrying and looks. But just over one year later, I am disappointed in two aspects.
First, the colour is fading, and fading unevenly. This makes it look rather shoddy and casual for business purposes. When I pay close to $CAN200 for a backpack, I expect it to last forever, basically.
Second, the system for adjusting the carrying straps seems to be wearing out. They straps adjust by threading through two metal loops that "lock" the strap in place. But after a year, they slip out of adjustment quite regularly -- I have to readjust almost every time I pick it up.
For these two reasons, I wouldn't buy it again, given the price, even though it is great in terms of weight and carrying capacity."

"I've owned this bag for almost 2 years and it is perfect for me. It is my third piece of battenkill luggage and though I like them all this is my favorite piece. I use my backpack as my everday bag but I also carry it to work and when I travel. It literally goes everywhere that I go. I won't say that it has to many pockets because I've managed to fill them all. I looked at this bag for over 2 years before I bought it and my only regret is that I did not buy it sooner. If Orvis decides to make this bag in bullhide I will have one as quick as they can ship it."

"I love this backpack. It is highly functional in term sof features, pockets, etc; , carries enough to make me feel like Tenzing Norgay, looks cool and complementary in that Battenkill way, and is quite apparantly tough as nails. My only quibble (as with all B-kill products) is that the leather pull tabs on the zippers undo themselves. Highly recommend this pack"

"I am a bit suprised at the name given to this bag. I recommend that Orvis and/or Battenkill rethink the name. There is nothing about this bag, or any of the Battenkill luggage, that I would classify as purely masculine. I've carried this brand for over 17 years and find it durable and sporty. Olive green is a great neutral color and certianally is gender mute. Love it and recommend it to anyone... including women."

"Well, I had to start traveling again. Thought I was finally off the road. Took me awhile to find this pack, The others were either too small or too big. This turned out to be the perfect size and has all the organizational features I required. High Quality has been a Standard for Ovis over the years and this is no exception.

"This is the best computer bag I have ever had (briefcase or backback style). There is a place for everything so it is easy to stay organized. I love the key strap for keeping track of my aircard. The abilitiy to tuck away the second shoulder strap so I can sling it over one shoulder is a plus. The quality is great. The only thing I would change would be for there to be a leather bottom. I recommend this bag to any guy who needs to travel with a computer."
