True rotary tying for under $100! Rotational vises offer the fly tier unlimited access to all sides of a fly, but such convenience has been expensive until now. Our new Delrin® and steel rotary vise is economically priced, with the essential features of far more expensive versions. Cam-operated jaw accepts hook sizes from 28 to 2/0, and the jaw is adjustable to allow both large and small hooks to be placed on the center axis with ease. Crank handle permits quick, precise rotation, and the fully adjustable tension mechanism allows resistance-free rotation. Vise stem is adjustable to a full 6 ½". 3/8" shaft. Vise clamp is padded to protect surfaces. Thread bobbin rest included.

True rotary vise,
May 18, 2009

"This is a true rotary vise, it is very good quality and holds all sizes of flies. The only bad thing about it was that the vise jaws were not straight. One side was straight and the other was bent slightly so i couldnt tie siz 24-28 flies easily. But i called orvis and i am having a new one sent to me. but i cant say there was anything bad about it! so its a 5."

Outstanding Vise,
May 6, 2009

"I echo all the other positive reviews of this outstanding value in a highly-featured vise. I would note only that the Orvis product description is incorrect in stating that it has a 3/8" shaft, which is pretty much industry standard. The Danvise instead has a 10mm diameter shaft, only slightly larger than 3/8" but larger enough that many (but not all) shaft-mounted aftermarket accessories will not fit without their mounting hole being enlarged. I found it easy to do with a 10 mm drill press bit, but others less perfectionist might do as well with just a rasp or rat-tail file."

"If you are just starting to tie or are a seasoned tier this vice is a good choice. Does the job better than a lot of far more expensive vices on the market. It is a true rotary vice. Well built, good fly hold and sturdy. With the bargain price tag, you won't go far wrong with one of these."

Best Vise for the $ and Tie More Flies,
June 23, 2008
By:
Luv2Flyfrom Richardson, TX
"The Danvise Rotary Vise is the best full feature rotary vise avaialable for the money. I have been tying with one for over 4 years and I'm very happy with it. I can tie size 24 Tricos and 2/0 Clousers with the greatest of ease. Tie more flies; use the money you save when buying this vise over vises costing twice as much on more fly tying material. One draw back to the head and jaw design is that it makes the tying area a little cramp."

"I have been using the Danvise Rotary Vise for two years now. At first I bought it because it was an inexpensive true rotary vise. After trying a couple of other more expensive true rotary vises I found myself coming back to the Danvise each time. It is easy to use and a pleasure to tie with. Don't let the price tag or the fact it is made from Delrin fool you. This is a top notch vise for an unbeatable price."

"The quality of my flies improved immediately upon using this vise. The action is smooth and adjusting to various hook sizes is pretty straightforward. Very easy to use and a rotary vise dramatically eases the dubbing/palmering process. Solid price performer."

"I'm a kid who successfully fly fishes and tie his own flies. Ever since I started tying I’ve looked long and hard for a good rotary vise. My grandparents bought the vise for Christmas and its just what I’ve been looking for. My flies look better than they ever have than before. The perfect vise for a beginner."

"I bought this vise at the Atlanta store last spring. I've tied hundreds of flies on it since then and have found the rotary function is wonderfully smooth. It holds hooks very securly way smaller than I want to tie. It may look a little odd but the fish don't care. I truly can't understand why someone would spend up to $600 to get a more prominent name when this vise has the function and durability at less than 15% of the price. I rate it 5 stars!!!"
