Zambezi Twill, March 16, 2010
By: Magnahale

"I have just ordered another pair of Zambezi Twill trousers. I find them very comfortable and hard wearing.
In answer to a previous comment, I remove the buttons from the back pockets and replace them with "velcro" fastenings.
One point; would it be possible to supply these trousers in dark navy or similar colour ? Same applies to 14 pocket expeditioin trousers."

Excellent pants!, March 13, 2010
By: BostonBen from Danvers, MA

"I was interested in these pants and decided to take a swing by the nearest Orvis store. I was impressed and bought a couple of pair to try out. These are very high quality - excellent construction and material. As a previous reviewer noted, this is a thick fabric - not your run of the mill chinos. When I wore them I got several compliments, as well as found myself liking them more and more. I bought 2 more pair and am very happy with this product."

Not ordinary, March 4, 2010
By: Khakkiman from Upstate, NY

"These are not your ordinary limp khakis. They hold a press well and look almost dressy, but wear like iron."

Could be improved, February 1, 2010
By: seattlemontlaker

"I have had a new pair of the Zambezi Twill Pants for each of the last five years.

I have two features I would ask be improved.

1. The rear pockets have buttons on the outside of the pockets and I have had them snap off upon entering a vehicle in tight situations. If the button were inside the pocket with the button hole on the outside of the pocket this would not happen -- plus the little button loop on the back looks bad when it is not buttoned down, and a couple of times the pulled off button has ripped the fabric of the pocket -- not a good sight. My suggestion would give the pant a much cleaner and finished look.

2. Every one of my pants pockets in the front have ended up with holes in the pockets so that change and other stuff drops through. I do not carry much in my pockets. The pants are made of such strong material I would expect the pockets to also be resistant to wear and tear - but they are not. I suggest you find some way to reinforce the front pockets or at least the very bottom of the front pockets. Holes in the pockets of a man's pants almost renders the pants useless.

I do love the pants -- but these two improvements would make a world of difference for me."

A really good pair of trousers, January 16, 2010
By: Sargeant

"I purchased a pair of your Zambezi Twill trousers approximately six months ago. They look great and I have had several compliments regarding them. However, it only took three wearings for both of the buttons on the rear pockets to come off and of course they could not be found. They shrunk more than I would have liked but overall I wear them often and enjoy wearing them."

"Next to the Bandera Leather Jacket, this is probably my favourite piece from Orvis, Along with the Zambezi® Twill Jacket and worn as a suit. Tough, yet soft and very good looking. Classy. Much admired. It has travelled with me to Marrakesh and Australia and is great."

Great Pants, November 16, 2009
By: TexasBoy from Beaumont, Texas

"They fit all of my expectations. Even though for a heavy fabric as opposed to normal khakis, they are still extremely comfortable. Leather trim is a great touch. Helps them stand out in the khaki world. Have had many compliments. Great for office casual and in the field."

If you want to be noticed!, February 26, 2009
By: Beach from Atlanta, GA

"As the owner of a small construction company, I need good looking, yet rugged clothes. I can have a client meeting and then need to climb up in an attic.

These pants fit the bill. I now have 3 pairs and may get more so as to wear them exclusively.

They are the only pants I've ever owned that consistently draw comments from people. Just today a man stopped me on the street to ask where I got them. And a female client commented on how good they look."

Great Pants, October 31, 2008
By: Philzee

"I own two pairs of these pants. They are over two years old and hold up perfectly. Very comfortable and stylish. They are a little too heavy for summer wearing but perfect for the three other seasons."

Zambeze Twill Pants, October 20, 2008
By: davedanger22 from Loudoun County, VA

"Went to to the opening of your new Bethesda store & got to try on a pair-dark khaki. Had always liked the look but until Saturday had not had an appreciation of how comfortable they were & how much my wife liked them on me! I will be going back for the other two colors. Thanks!"

Best Gift I Ever Gave!, September 22, 2008
By: MountainGal

"My husband is one of the pickiest people I have ever known, with regard to how his clothing fits. I bought a pair of these pants in dark khaki for his anniversary gift, along with a plaid shirt. He was absolutely delighted with the fit and appearance of both the pants and shirt! They look wonderful on him and we were both VERY pleased with the quality ! I will be getting the other colors for additional gifts, and I would highly recommend these pants to any one!"

great Pants-terrific fit too, September 11, 2008
By: Drifter from The tall mountains of Utah

"I bought 3 pair of these pants before you put the leather on the pockets. Good fit and confortable in all but the hottest weather. Nice deep pockets and with a quick pressing thay look great with a sport jacket. They are difficult to stain and wash up nicely. I have been wearing the 3 pair I have and they are my first choice for pants when i go to the closet."

Great pants, June 28, 2008
By: Kmenlo

"I have 2 pair and a pair of the shorts and will probably get the jacket. People comment quite a lot on these pants and they feel great.
I would not however use these as dress pants."

Perfect for casual or dress!, June 2, 2008
By: Tsmith

"I can wear these as either casual or dress pants. They are super comfortable, not at all stiff, as you might expect with this twill material. The leather accents are a perfect touch."

Favorite pants ever!, May 14, 2008
By: DrDave from Rockland County, NY

"I visited the flagship store in Manchester recently and went wild. Having the opportunity to try clothes on and get the right fit and feel is critical to me. An extremely helpful and knowlegeble salesman names Arnie pointed these out to me. I wear them casual on the weekend and to work (I work at a University). They are comfortable and durable and stylish and fit me perfectly. I will be ordering more in other colors.
I am saving up for the lambskin munitions vest which I think will go nicely with these pants."

Best pair of non-dress pants ever, February 25, 2008
By: Rheutillius from Lancaster, CA

"If I want to look a bit better dressed, I wear my Orvis' Donegal Wool Cargo Pants. In my 73 years they are the highest quality pants I have ever purchased. In years gone by I purchased 3 piece suits 5 at a time. Haven't worn a suit in years but I miss quality clothing.
However, on a normal day I won't wear anything but my Zambezi Cargo pants with their 14 pockets. My airplane keys are always in the inside left hand pocket so if I decide to fly I don't have to go home first.
My wallet goes in the left cargo pocket. My small garage door opener goes in the left, outer "hand" pocket and, if I'm carrying it, my motorcycle key. In the inner left "hand" pocket is my pocket knife along with the airplane keys. My car keys go in the right, outer "hand" pocket. The cell, along with my spare hearing aid batteries go in the right cargo pocket. I never use hip pockets. Don't like to sit on things!

These pants look great and, though they are very durable, I've worn out several pair. I have four fairly new pair in the closet I plan on lasting until I "graduate" in 10 years or so. They are washable but I have them dry-cleaned because they look nicer longer."

The Best Khakis I've Ever Owned, February 1, 2008
By: datongdave from Exeter, NH

"After years of looking for that "perfect:" pair of casual pants, I've found them. Comfortable, rugged and they look good too. Thank you for a pair of pants that doesn't feature the ubiquitous pleats. You can wear them with a blazer for dinner or with your favorite bummy sweatshirt lounging around the lake house. A great product. I own six pair!"
