"I bought my hammock in 1973 and have used it with and without the stand (suspended between trees using supplied, galvanized hardware) in several places around the world. Keep it clean and properly stored when not in use and it'll easily last a lifetime. It's comfortable and sturdy with quality construction utilizing a good grade of rope and oak spreader bars top and bottom. I've taken some of the best naps in my life in my hammock. If you don't have one - you owe it to yourself to get yourself one and not just any one - get a Pawley's Island!"
