These micro flies work very well as dropper patterns on smaller dries that can't take the weight of larger nymphs. "Used a size 18 micro may under a strike indicator and managed to land a 18" cut-bow on the Eagle River outside Vail, Colorado. I had only caught one smaller brown on an egg pattern before I started using the micro may. The guys in the fly-fishing Outfitters store in Avon suggested this fly to me. This fly changed my fishing for the week. It did great in the murky run-off water of the mid spring in the Rockies. I would advise any one to use this fly when trout are taking small nymphs."
