Keep your dog from jumping into the front seat while you're driving. Dogs given free range of the car while it is in motion are a safety hazard to themselves, the driver, passengers, and other drivers, too. Our backseat barrier for dogs is easy to install, and features fold–out partitions that will also separate your dog from backseat human passengers. Quick–release buckles make it a snap to install and remove. Rugged nylon and Ultrasuede®. In black. 27¾"H X 23½"W at top, 15"W at bottom. Imported.

"The installation directions leave a lot be be desired, esp. with non-rermovable head rests. It took almost an hour to install, not counting the trip to the hardware store for "S" hooks to connect it to the bottom of the seats. It still tilts at a weird angle. Better directions are needed. It took a while for our GSD to get used to it being there, but I feel safer traveling with her now. I'd recommend it."

Works great.,

"This thing is fantastic. I have a husky and a dal. The husky always pushed as far towards the front seat as he could get. With this, our last trip was much, much easier. Installs in 10 minutes (less now that I know how to do it), looks great and does not impair rear vision. If you want to keep your dog(s) in the back seat with a product that looks great and is easy on the dog(s), this is it."

"I bought this barrier for my new 2009 Ford Escape to contain my Aussie in the back seat. After great difficulty with all the straps, it was installed. My Aussie immediately jumped over it after getting slightly hung up in the middle. It does not work with an agile 70 lb. Aussie. I would like to try the barrier with metal adjustable bars. I need my dog to be safely contained in the back seat!"

Fine if you're dog is not determined,

"I received this as a gift. I'm not happy with it. After it taking an hour to install it, my dog was able to tear it down within 15 minutes. It's fine as long as your dog is not determined to ride in the front seat. If you have a 50+ lb basset hound that wants in the front seat, get yourself a different barrier."

Not worth the money,

"I purchased this product to keep my two dogs from trying to get into the front seat during trips. It took my husband almost an hour to install the barrier. However, after it was installed it worked well - not great, but well enough. I kept it up for a couple of months but had to remove it recently for another trip. Now we can't get it reinstalled. I have purchased several things from Orvis and have always been very pleased. However, I would not recommend this product. It is extremely difficult to install and once it is removed it is impossible to put back up. I am very disappointed in this purchase."

Pretty Effective,

"I recently changed cars from a full on station wagon to a four door hatchback (downsizing for MPG!). The station wagon allowed me to have a metal pet barrier separating my chocolate lab from my other passengers/items. My new car is significantly smaller, and a metal pet barrier was not feasible. I installed a this Backseat Barrier so that my dog could have the back cargo area and half of the backseat area (using the Backseat Barrier's included divider). My dog now has plenty of space and I can still transport myself and two passengers (or a mixture of stuff). My dog is pretty calm, so he hasn't really tried to plow through the Backseat Barrier---like the other reviewer noted."

This product doesn't work,

"Unless you have a very complient dog, I would not recommend this product. My German Shorthaired Pointer took great joy in mashing the top down with her snout and then jumping right over it into the passenger seat. The metal bars in the top did not hold her back one bit. The plastic strap holders were easily loosened by her as well, which makes the whole thing sag."
