We prewash and brush our hefty and insulating 12-oz. fabric so it not only keeps you supremely warm, but feels soft and has that weathered look you love. The black, yellow, red, and green stripes pay homage to the Hudson's Bay Company's chief blanket, which dates to the 1700s. The narrow indigo stripes or "points" just above the bottom hem indicate the number of beaver pelts required in a trade for the blanket. Rounded bottom can be tucked in or worn outside pants. In natural multi. Cotton/polyester. Washable. Imported. Sizes: M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52).

"I have had mine for a few years, and really love it. Lots of positive comments when I wear it, especially around the Gun Club. My only gripe is the price. I really had to soul search cost for a cotton shirt. If it were a wool shirt no problem."

"This shirt is just beautiful. The colored stripes are so vibrant against the soft cream background. My husband got this for his "early" Christmas present. Wearing it to work today to look festive for Christmas Eve. It is PRICEY but I guess worth it if you want anything that is made exceptionally well."

My Dad's Favorite Shirt,
December 11, 2009
By:
DtownDaughterfrom Doylestown, PA
"I gave this shirt to my dad several years ago for Christmas and he wears it all winter long. It's his favorite warm cuddly shirt for knocking around in! It has lasted really well but this year I am getting him a new one because my mom can never get it off him to wash it!! Also it doesn't look quite as nice as when it was new but really for being at least six years old it's stood the test of time as a quality item!"

"I have owned this shirt for @5 years - I believe that's when Orvis first offered it. The shirt seems to have become a classic Orvis staple since then, and for good reason. It has held up well, even through frequent wearings and washings. It is a shirt one reaches for frequently as a warm layer over a turtleneck, polo, or dress shirt - looks great with all. Like other reviewers, I've received numerous compliments and inquiries about it - seemingly whenever I've worn it in public. So be prepared to explain what "Orvis" is to the uninitiated. I'm 5' 11" and 175lbs - and a medium is more than adequate."

"I am very pleased with this shirt. The colors look just like my authentic Hudson Bay blanket that my wife gave to me years ago. This shirt is very soft. I can't wait to wear it this fall and winter."

the shirt on a white bedsheet
"I was very excited about this order. I was expecting the shirt to be as pictured in the photos. Imagine my disappointment when i opened the package and saw that the supposedly white part of the shirt was so yellow. It simply looked old. I took a picture of it on a white bedsheet to prove my point."

Striking striping.,

"I've owned this shirt for a couple years and it is one of my cool weather favorites. Light and warm. But of course it is the classic Hudson's Bay point blanket striping that sets it apart. Very eye-catching. Lots of compliments. Plan on wearing it untucked. For me the fabric is too fleecy to be tucked in, plus it would tend to detract from primary attraction of the shirt - its striping."

Compliments from Scotland,
June 30, 2008
By:

"I just returned from Scotland where the weather is of course much cooler than here in the States. The temps were upper 40's to mid 50's.My Point Blanket Shirt kept me very warm and snug in the cooler temps and dry in the rain. A number of men came up to me on the street and asked where I purchased the shirt. I obliged by telling them Orvis.com. Many compliments from Scotland on this masculine and timeless shirt. Needless to say I love my Point Blanket Shirt and seems as though others do too. Best regards to all at Orvis - Gregory"

"Wore this shirt last winter snowmobiling in upper Wisconsin and Wyoming. Must of had ten or more comments related to the uniqueness of the apparel. Eg.," What are those black lines near the waist? ". I think my dad had a blanket like that. Warm also. Thanks Dan"
