Really great vest!, February 25, 2010
By: CharlestonLS

"I was looking for a nice wax cotton vest when I stumbled on this vest from Orvis and decided to give it a try. I am very pleased with the quality, the pockets and the warmth. One of the things the info on the vest doesn't do is talk about the pockets. It has great pockets in all the needed places including handwarmers behind the front pouch pockets and a hidden pocket inside the front zipper placket. I only gave the value 4 stars because I got it at sale price which is a fair price but the full price was a little high."

Almost excellent, January 27, 2010
By: treeguy

"The Loch Leven vest is just what I needed. Design and styling are great. Love the pockets and two-way zipper. A huge plus for me; no polyester fleece - the bggest static electricity generator on the planet! The one major problem is the armholes - way too small. They don't allow for a sweater underneath (an essential for a vest) and the range of motion is extremely limited. If this bit was improved, it would be a 5-star all around."

"Excellent looking and very functional vest with internal security pockets. It is not bulkly but provides enough warmth for three season use. The overall design of this vest is excellent. I own two of them. Orvis should continue to offer this vest as a staple to its collection."

a functional and flexible vest, January 19, 2010
By: JSquared from Warner Springs, CA

"I originally ordered one of these and returned it unopened having decided to order the Barbour fleece vest instead. However, as is often the case, I subsequently reordered it and couldn't be happier. The garment is very well made with lots of features and is a staple (along with the Barbour) of my outdoor wardrobe. The micro fiber outer shell is soft and feels like a tightly knit cotton but repels water and does a credible job of blocking the wind as well. Along with the cotton plaid lining sandwiching a thin layer of insulation the vest is a natural over sweaters and turtlenecks.. At the price it's a bargain."

A True Fall Classic, November 4, 2008
By: TheHappyHorseman from Gales Ferry, Connecticut

"I purchased this vest last Fall to use while horseback riding. It is perfect. It's the right weight, the two-way zipper allows me to wear it zipped up without bunching at the bottom and the fact that it is machine washable makes it that much better. A real classic look and fit."

Great vest, October 24, 2008
By: Flyfysher from Chesterfield, Virginia

"I love vests and this one is my favorite. Have owned it for 2 years, great alone for early fall and also as a second layer under a jacket. Also good as another layer while driving. I wish they came in other colors, I'd buy another."

Just right., November 12, 2007
By: Crockett from Knoxville, Tennessee

"I bought this vest for cool days without a lot of wind, and it has proved to be the perfect weight. Not too hot when the sun pops out, and ample warmth for cool days.

The quality and features are great. Plenty of pockets, including one inside and one zipper secured hidden under the storm flap at the fly. Great material and lining. No regrets."

Versatile gook-looking vest, October 7, 2007
By: DogWalker from Orange County, California

"I bought this vest recently and have been well pleased with it. It's attractive, comfortable and has many nice features such as two-way zipper, front snaps, adjustable side tabs, inside pocket, 2 outside bellows pockets and 2 handwarmer pockets. It's a light to medium weight vest that I use to walk our dog in southern California, but would also be good for travel. I find it more comfortable and better looking than fleece alternatives."
