"First saw these shoes at the Manchester Store...told my wife that I had to have them. One of the most comfortable shoes that I have had the pleasure to wear. The workmanship is superb...the shoe seems to be molded to your foot...wore them all day at the Races in Saratoga, didn'e improve my luck but walking in these shoes is like walking on air.this show reflects the attention to detail and quality that embody Orvis and Merrell."

"These are great shoes for casual wear...waterproof so you can walk in the snow...good traction too! These shoes just feel GREAT! "This was my first pair of Merrell shoes. They fit well and look well. They fit more like sneakers than shoes, but this is ok. But they are quite slippery on wet stones- ok on pavement and ok on dirt or walking in the woods. But if you try to step across a wet area on stones, or if you walk on a walk made of smooth fieldstone when it is raining or on a morning with a dew- watch out! I suspect this is because they are so heavily ridged that there is preciously little surface area actually touching a smooth surface, and the vibram rubber ir fairly firm. I am sure others may have had this experience."

"having always worn birks I was extremely surprised how light and comfortable the shoe is, no break in required very light, insulated from the inside with foam. Even with subzero temps foot was warm. People with wide feet will find the toe slightly narrow. Also due to the ankle height will probably need a shoe horn. Overall excellent first week and hopefully it will last as long as my birks. excellent traction on snow/slush etc"
