Great Shorts, February 17, 2010
By: CoachPhil from Las Vegas, NV

"I love the fit on these shorts. Not too long—8" is about right for me—and lots of neat pockets. And useful pockets, not just for show. Excellent construction as well. Built to last and a nice medium weight.

Thanks, Orvis"

pricey, but worth the investment, June 8, 2009
By: PopponessetBeach

"These are about the only shorts in the marketplace that are louse and baggy, and aren't cut for 24 year olds. Line dry them, and they'll literally last forever."

Love 'em, August 28, 2008
By: 83champ from Cumberland Valley, KY

"Aside from a couple of pair of Levi's, my clothes come from Orvis. And I put them through the grind. They have my highest recommendations for fit, endurance, comfort, and the ability to move in them. These clothes are made for people who move, not those who pose in magazines.
Having said that, the first thing to go is usually the buttons. The stitching could be reinforced. Other than that, I've got no complaints."

I'm nuts about pockets, July 15, 2008
By: rockduck from Denmark

"These I wear all summer. I've also got a pair in a lighter material and a long legged corduroy version. It means that I don't allways need a jacket. I like always to have my pocket camera, phone, lighter, keys, large swiss army pocketknife and Ipod with me and I feel secure about my wallet when it is in the safety pocket. The extra battery for the camera fits in one of the small pockets. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that the buttons in the waist seem rather flimsy. So I feel that I have to be careful when I button them. I have noticed that another customer has mentioned this."

Good Idea, Poor Construction, June 8, 2008
By: baden

"I own a lot of Orvis apparel but must admit that I was very disappointed in these shorts. Why? Both buttons at the waist came off within a week of purchase. It's difficult to wear shorts without these buttons.
I still like the shorts but I am not a seamstress. I'd like to see better execution on the construction of this garment."

"These shorts are comfortable, functional and rugged. They wear well after numerous washings and hold their shape. They have replaced my other shorts for good!"

"These are the best shorts ever. More pockets than you can imagine. Buy a couple of pairs and get rid of all the rest of the shorts clogging up your drawers."

"When I backpacked Australia and New Zealand for six months I included two pair of elephant shorts. Unless I was swimming or there was snow these are the shorts I wore. I can't say enough about how wonderful these shorts are. Strong, durable, attractive, and easy to clean. The only damage after all that travelling is a little sun fading. Even home I still wear the shorts though I no longer consider them dress up attire. Before I left I looked around for the right gear, even with that preplanning I underestimated the impact of wearing and carrying the same clothes for six months. There was never the slightest moments doubt though about these shorts, they were perfect, essentially my uniform for half a year. Whether dancing on tables or pursuing more refined interests these shorts were there."
