"Spring in the northern part of Ontario means blackflies so thick they drive the forest's creatures mad. Moose run wild in a vain attempt to escape the relentless, all-encompassing onslaught. As for we common flyfishers, even wearing waders, an insect shield Marquesas and hat, the blighters crawl down one's neck to feast on the soft flesh hidden beneath. Thankfully, this bandana limits them. It is also useful in all the other ways that have made bandanas part of the thinking outdoorsmen's gear for centuries."

For Anyone Who Hates Mosquitos,

"When I bought this bandanna, I was really skeptical about the insect shield technology. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I found that this actually does help keep the bugs at bay, even after many washings. This bandanna is now a staple for me whenever I go outside in the summertime. It won't work absolute miracles, so I wouldn't completely rule out bug spray on your appendages, but it's one great step to preventing mosquito bites. On one pre-bandanna trout fishing trip in North Carolina, I returned home (after using bug spray all day) with close to 30 bites on each arm and each leg. Needless to say, I was uncomfortable for a few days afterward. After I began wearing the bandanna with my bug spray on my trips, I would come home with only a few bites around my ankles (far away from the bandanna). Although this is simply anecdotal evidence, I'm a believer in this product! Just make sure not to spray the bandanna itself with bug spray."
