"Love these shoes. They take some time to break in, but in the end it's time well spent. These shoes are a little pricey, but the quality makes them worth it. I have two pairs of Gokeys and I love them both. Highly recomend."

"I have been wearing a pair of Gokey double sole mocs for several weeks now, and I am extremely happy with the quality and comfort of these mocs. They are amazingly comfortable. I also own a handmade pair of mocs made by MacRostie's leather which are also a great moc, but the Gokey mocs by Orvis are almost half the cost."

"These mocs are very well made and are quite attractive.The size was my correct one...The problem, for me, is that they are very hard...the leather is hard, so they're tough to break in and uncomfortable if used without socks...Also they tend to slip off if u walk fast....

"I have both the Gokey moc and the WC Russell moc which Orvis used to sell before acquiring Gokey some years ago. I prefer the Gokey for a couple of reasons.
Unlike Russell the Gokey covers the entry point of the laces with a leather lining which prevents any irritation upon the top of the arch. This can be a problem when the mocs are new and not yet broken in to your individual foot. Secondly, the Gokey leather, while initially stiff, is a little heavier with a harder outer finish. You can't go wrong with either, but if I were to order a 3rd pair it would be the Gokey."

"I've worn soft sole moccasins since I was a kid, though college and now as an adult male. I used to change from my college soccer cleats into my Orvis moccasins....and today, 15 yrs later, from my work shoes or hiking boots into the same Orvis moccasins - they've lasted that long. They are amazing. It's now time to order a new pair, and guess what I'll be getting?
I'd love a pair with fur/shearling lining for winter months, too! These are the best moccasins on the planet...period!"

"Many people learn the hard way that paying top dollar doesn't always guarantee top quality. However, I was assured by a friend that the Gokey quality was as sure as the sunrise. He was right. Unwrapping my slippers, I was amazed by their appearance. I've purchased dress shoes that didn't look as good. In any event, trying them on, I did discover that they are indeed, a tight fit. In spite of the instructions, (yes, they come with care and wearing instructions), I did encounter some discomfort with only one of the slippers, the left one. Nothing is perfect, and I'm positive that my feet fit that category. It would appear that my left foot is slightly wider than my right and how in the world would I have ever known that? In any event, after a considerable breaking in period, these babies are awesome. More expensive, but the quality is obvious from the first moment you examine them. I look forward to many years of use and plan to order the conditioner and waterproof dressing to ensure their durability. Great product!"

"These are high quality mocs that fit tight and are very comfortable. I have been wearing them constantly since they arrived. I have not seen craftmanship like this off the shelf, and I am someone who does their homework before I make a purchase. These are the real deal, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality moc that fits like a glove. If you like to wear thick socks you may want to order a half size above your normal shoe size."

"I bought my first Gokey moccasins in 1981, and have had three pairs since. I wear them everywhere, even on city streets. Even with the soft sole, they wear like iron. While I don't have my original pair anymore, I do have one I bought in 1996.
I wear moccasins almost exclusively when I'm not at work (unless it's snowing) and own a number of pairs by other manufacturers. These wear the best and are the most comfortable. They cost more, but they're worth every penny."

"Alright......I seldom do product reviews but here goes......Within 15 mins of these things being on my feet I knew I wanted to be burried in them (kinda like one of the other guys said). They genuinely look good on all casual occasions or just lying around the house. They are the first thing I change into after work. By the way, I have also gone goose hunting in them on Christmas Day......if you knew me you wouldn't ask. Buy your size if you like wearing dress socks. If you like thick socks go one half size up. Mine wore in fine after two weeks....just be patient. Best wishes. Thanks Orvis!"

"I purchased two pairs (11 and 11.5). Decided the 11.5 was the way to go. I also purchased the waterproof dressing and leather conditioner. Initially I wore both pairs of shoes around the house to determine which size was the correct one. As stated earlier 11.5 was the one. I applied the waterproof dressing as per instructions, and also applied the conditioner a few days later. I did spend a few nights adjusting the fit/tightness of the lacing and now I have a near-custom fitted show. I do not have a foot fetish, however, the double-sole moc is awesome; i.e., feels like a natural part of me, very, very comfortable.
My only concern is that the sole will wear out and probably would be cost prohibitive to replace, so I am contemplating in the very near future of buying a back-up pair, eventhough one of the other reviewers commented that they have had their pair for several years.
BTW, the double sole is actually relatively stiff/firm, which provides some decent support and cushion.
I have no ties or affiliation with Gokey or Orvis, but if you are looking for a true moc, this is the one. I do encourage you to condition the leather before extensive wear. My pair now has a nice deep shiny brown, almost cordovan look due to the waterproofing and conditioning that I applied.
Additionally, my wife wanted a pair of slippers for Christmas this year, and after I wore the mocs for a few weeks I thought that she would really enjoy this shoe. Unfortunately she isn't into the moc style, despite my numerous comments as to how comfortable they are and repeated offerings to buy her a pair. Her loss."

"I've had mine for about 16-17 years. They're my... Boy Scout meeting shoes... campshoes after backpacking all day... Friday Is Casual Day shoes... "kickin" around on the weekend shoes... out walking with the dogs in the evening shoes... and they'll probably be my "going to my final resting place" shoes.
