"But they do fit very tight at first. Deal with it for a few weeks and they'll loosen up dramatically, over the years they'll loosen up to a perfect fit. If you don't want to deal with this process pay the extra money and go custom. Either way they'll be the most waterproof, snakeproof, fireproof, anything proof boot you've ever owned."

"I'm a size 9-1/2, I have never worn a shoe larger than 10D in my entire life (including my size 10 Gokey boat shoes that I love). I ordered a 10 E in these and I can't even get the right one on. I managed to get the left one on with my son's help and extreme pain ensued. No way could I stand up with that thing on. Order these boots at least a full size bigger than normal, Orvis should warn people about this, it is a very big deviation from normal shoe sizing"

"I have had these boots for 20 years. I have hunted deer quail and done the yard and just knocked around the neighbor hood with them all these years. They still look great. I had not worn them for a few years till a friend came over with a new pair of so so boots he was proud of. I got my Gokeys out, cleaned them up, and fell in love with them all over again. They are the best darn boots I have ever owned."

"I bought these boots a little over a year ago and have worn them almost everyday since. I wear them to the office every day but they have been great for working at the farm and hunting. They are the most comfortable shoes I own and have been a great investment."

"A little tight across the top of the foot just below where the foot bends. I am a true size 12D but these were needed for me in a 12 1/2. Orvis says they will stretch with time. For the Black color I went ahead and spent the extra money and printed the Custom Design forms and mailed them to Orvis so Gokey could use my measurements to Custom make a pair to fit me just right. Other than that, these are obviously a type boot that LITERALLY will last an entire lifetime."
