Not Very Happy,

"I sent an e-mail asking if the shoes were leather lined and when I didn't get a response when I wanted to order the shoes I did a live chat and was told the shoes were leather lined and also when I placed the order I was told they were. The next day I received an e-mail response saying they were not. Since they were ordered I decided I could live without the lining. When I received the shoes they fit well and seemed good but just recently my wife noticed the shape of the toes of the shoes were different. One was narrower than the other and quite noticable. Unfortunately I wore the shoes or I would have sent them back. I try to buy American when I can and was happy they were made in the USA and they appear to be well made with the exception of their appearance."

"I have owned my Sauvage hikers for over two years am ready to write a review. I am extremely pleased with the fit and durability of these shoes. I have to admit I take pretty good care of them because I like their performance so much and they look so nice after a little shine. I purchased a pair of Gokey boat shoes and a pair of Gokey upland boots after being so pleased with my sauvage hikers."

"I have always considered that given how much time we spend on our feet and walking, having the best shoes is very important to health and well-being. So I have always sought and bought the best, up to and including two pairs of English hand-made custom triple-welted veal "veldtshoen" that I bought in London 30 years ago, one of which I still wear.
I bought my first Gokey Sauvage Hikers at Orvis Manchester VT about ten years ago and wear them here in upstate New York several times a week from autumn until early spring. At the same time I bought a pair of Gokey moccasins that I wear almost daily most of the rest of the time. I just had the moccasins resoled by Gokey (for most modest $50. chanrge) and they look close to new. These are the best-made, strongest and most comfortable shoes I have ever worn."

"I have owned a pair of Sauvage Hikers for 25 years. During the past 18 years I have lived in retirement on a lake with with good fishing and hunting at my doorstep. The Sauvage Hiker has served me well from sports to construction not to mention going to town on a wet or snowey day. It's a great shoe. My Sauvage oxfords are equally satisfying."

"The best all purpose shoe you will ever wear. Period. The Sauvage Hiker has kept me on my feet for all of life's most important moments - weddings, funerals, graduations, duck blinds, and grouse coverts. Like an old and trusted friend, Gokeys simply will not let you down. The pair I've got on right now is the same I've worn daily for the last five years! How many "tech" shoes can you say that about?
