Perfect for Silvers, December 31, 2009
By: Corkfish from CT

"I didn't want to spend a fortune on a rod for a trip to Alaska for silvers and leopard trout so I bought one of these along with a Powell that I had. The Powell ended up breaking and just didn't have enough spine. This rod combined with a Battenkill Mid Arbor IV provided THE perfect combination for the fish I was pursuing."

"This Clearwater II rod is excellent for beginners. When I captured that 16lb salmon my friend thought the rod would snap. The rod and Battenkill Mid Arbor reel fits very good together and can easily drag those big fishes onshore."

"Very sensitive rod that handles big fish really well. I have it set up with a Battenkill Mid and have landed many 17-22lb salmon with it. Very cabable rod and my buddy thought the first big salmon would snap it."
