"I had been flyfishing for a number of years with an hardware-store bought fiberglass rod, and decided that it was time to get something expressly designed for the purpose. I wanted an all-rounder that would be most useful for my favourite small streams, but also handle the occasional big fish during drop-back time. The website description for this rod seemed to fit; I ordered the outfit including reel, line etc and entered into the world of Orvis. I'm glad I did! My original rod was the first version of Clearwater, and I lovingly waved it back and forth throughout several seasons. Sadly, after a few years it broke. I sent it back and was amazed to receive a new Clearwater II in very short order! I can't say enough about the usefulness of the Orvis rod warranty. I've got several other Orvis rods now and so this one gets used mostly as a loaner for friends who visit, or for newbies who are making their first try at fly-fishing. This rod is perfect for beginners as it is very forgiving. It will always hold a warm place in my memory."

"I fish the brazos river for largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass. The clearwater II 795 is the best rod I have ever came across for fishing tight streams. And Orvis' 25 year guarantee is unbeatable. I will not but rods of any other name! If you looking for a great rod at a great price look no further. I broke the furrell on my original clearwater. I sent it to orvis and in a week they had replaced my old rod with a beautiful clearwater II, new cordura tube and furrell wax.In a week, UNBELIEVABLE! Thanks Orvis!"
