"I wasn't sure about ordering this bear from the photo in the catalogue but I trusted the reviewers, and I am so glad I did! Our bear arrived today and I was simply amazed at how realistic he looks. I wouldn't be surprised to find him wandering about. We all love him. This is not bear country as I live in the wild mountains of Wales (UK), but he looked at home immediately in front of the fire. My five Golden Retriever dogs sniffed him then ignored him but our cats are also terrified of him. They'll have to get used to him as he's never leaving! He is too nice for a footrest even though he is supremely comfortable as one. I am ordering another one for my study . I forgot to mention him to the cleaner and the poor thing had a dreadful shock and gave a little scream. I had to sit her down and give her a cup of tea. Shows how real he is. Buy one and you'll be thrilled."

"The box was delivered when I was away and my Son called asking if I wanted him to open it and assemble the footrest. Five minutes later he called me back, saying there was nothing to assemble, he opened the box and glaring at him was Mr Bear. My Son could not believe how realistic the bear was and begged me not to use it as a footrest and we dont. Mr Bear now sits right next to our dogs pillows in the lounge and has become another member of the family. Yet another, brilliant, top quality item from Orvis."

"I call my bear SMOKEY. He looks so real that i often feel a powerful hankering to set out a bowl of water for him. I also find myself contantly brushing him. He is a real beauty. As a footrest, he provides the comfort that no ottoman I owned in the past has provided. I want one in every room. My home will then be considered bear country. If you have a love for bears like I do, this foot rest is a must have!"

"My parents got us this for Christmas. I must admit it made me jump when I opened the box. What a fantastic Bear though. It looks so real. It is almost to nice to put your feet on. My Wife and I have him standing pride of place in our lounge. Only problem is that he freaks our cat. She won't go near him despite the fact he has not moved since Christmas Day. This could be an advantage though as she can sometimes drive us crazy jumping on our bed in the night. All we have to do is move our bear to the bedroom!!!!
Would recommend this item to anyone. We love him to bits.

"Catalog photos really do not do this justice. This piece is just beautiful. Very plush and looks so real. The construction is extremly well done and the bear is very sturdy and just the right height. Well worth the price. It's the best foot stool I've ever had, as the plush "fur" makes it so comfortable. And, it's a great conversation starter. I will be ordering a second one."

"Bought 'bear' for my husband for his birthday, I waited for him to come home and I let him open the box, (but I helped) brought back memories of xmas and birthdays when you can't get present open quick enough. Wow, Wow, Wow. He stands proud in our living room now, my dogs are a bit unsure of him at the moment as he's a new friend. They're a bit shy you see. At least my coffee table will not be used as a foot stool from now on. High recommended."

"I like this footrest because it elevates the legs and you have room to spread your legs if you don't want to cross them. Also, I found that the fur used wasn't scratchy therefore it doesn't irratate your skin."

"As a surpsire for my husband earlier this year I purchased the Black Bear Footrest for our new Adirondack camp. It has made a great addition to our living room. Not only is it a very comfortable footrest, it also looks adorable tucked away in the corner. Our dog also enjoy wrestiling with it from time to time. It is perfect for any camp, cabin or cottage."
