"Good protection from brush, briars, and frosty weather, but light enough and supple enough so you could handle shells and reload easily."

Flawless!,

"Received these and promptly went after some pheasants. I never shot with gloves before and these are so fine that barely noticed them, even shooting my old side-by-side with double triggers. It sure was nice to have the gloves when the gun was cold (or hot!). I ordered the large, and was a little concerned they'd be too big. The size chart was accurate."

Great gloves for bird hunters!,

"As an avid outdoorsman for over 30 years, I would not only highly recommend these gloves, I would say that they are a must have for any serious bird hunter. The soft supple leather gives you great gun feel and will become your favorite pair the first time you put them on! The styling and craftsmanship have made these a conversation piece with all of the naysayers about wearing gloves in the field and I don't shoot anything including sporting clays without them on."

Very poor workmanship,

"I'm sorry, but I just cannot recommend these gloves. Last season, I purchased a pair of them and within two weeks they literally started to unravel at the seams (fingers) in multiple locations. Orvis did replace them promptly, but the second pair did the same thing. I now have my third pair and wore them for six months and now they are trash. Three pair of gloves in less than a year is not good quality. DO NOT purchase these gloves."

Note The Gloves!
"The upland gloves are not only extremely comfortable but suprisingly warm for there weight. They provide the best protection of any glove I have ever used. Not to mention the beating they take in the field and during dog training as well. I have recieved multiple compliments on there looks and given several pairs to my hunting partners who all love them!"

Excellent gloves,

"I have never been one to wear gloves very much, but these gloves have changed my habits. I bought them at the local Orvis store after I was given a gift card for my birthday, and they are one of the best purchases I have ever made. The first pair I owned were lost (I think a jealous person stole them) and I immediately replaced them. I keep them in my Barbour jacket pocket and find that they are perfect for quail hunting, cold weather walks, and late season night football games. Since I have owned them, I have given several pair as gifts to friends and all of them have commented later how much they enjoy these gloves."

"My daughter is in the Orvis store in Manchester today and she called me to get the type of upland glove she knows I like. I have hunted Pats for a long long time and have found Orvis upland gloves the best there is for early season woodcock and late season grouse. they last me about 3 years, hold up well, give me good protection and are sensitive between gun and hand, the gauntlets protect the wrist I try to keep an extra pair and with a silk liner that I buy seperately and i find them a great everyday winter glove in the north east."

"Great for sporting clays or hunting! They protect your hands really well from the brush as well as scalding barrels on the clays course.
Very supple leather keeps you in touch with the gun in your hands.
Put your name in them - someone else will want them too!
Excellent purchase."

Great Hand Protection
"These gloves are mandatory for bird hunters going into the Georgia clear-cuts for quail or the Wisconsin woods for Grouse. They protect extremely well, are useable immediately with no break-in, and are surprisingly warm in cold weather. Mine last on average five years, but are mendable for a few more. As a gift for your hunter, they are thoughtful, useful- a great solution for the age-old question, "What do I get this guy?""

"There is no better Upland hunting glove on the market. I've used these gloves for 11 seasons now , and still haven't wore them out. The dexterity is incredible and they are suprisingly warm even in very cold weather."

"I bought these gloves about 18 years ago and they're still going strong. They break-in from the first time you wear them and are so thin you lose very little trigger feel. They are excellent for pushing away briars that would normally leave your hands bloody by the end of the day. Buy them tight and they'll serve you like a second skin. "

"I'm now onto my second pair, the first lasted almost 20 years and I never pick-up a gun without putting them on. They are without question the best fitting, most comfortable of any of the shooting gloves I've ever worn. All the seams are in the right places, you never even feel them. With a little less pheasant blood on them they could be dress gloves."

"These lightweight, yet durable gloves are ideal for upland bird hunting through late autumn, before the first frost appears in the field. When the weather turns brisk, I wear a pair of fleece liners underneath them to extend their use. Because the gloves are thin and sensitive to the touch, loading and swinging my great-grandfather's Lefever couldn't be easier. "

"I have hunted with these gloves the the last two years, and I love them. They break in fast, and they fit perfect. What I really like about these gloves is that they are durable, but not too thick. They provide senstivity, which makes disengaging the safey, and swinging the gun smooth and easy!"
