A great rain jacket !!, September 11, 2009

"My wife and I were walking down a rainy street in Edinburgh in early September 2009, while we vacationing in Scotland. I was wearing a light weight rain jacket that was functional, but it was not as breathable as I would prefer. I looked up from under my umbrella and there was the first Orvis store that I have ever seen (I have always ordered through the Orvis website). We walked in and looked around. The store was decorated with conservative good taste and had an inviting atmosphere. The sales people were very helpful, but not pushy. I tried on several jackets, but could not find one that seemed right for me. As we were about to leave, a salesman brought me this jacket. I liked it immediately. It is light, very comfortable and it seems to be impossible to wrinkle with lots of pocket space. I bought it and wore it almost everyday for the reminder of our time in the U.K. My only slight negative is that the hood is difficult to roll up and store when you are finished using it. But do not let that dissuade you from purchasing this fine jacket. You will not be sorry you bought it !!"

"I bought this jacket in the beginning of this last summer. I brought it down the river with me in montana and was amazed by how durable and comfortable this jacket was esp. when i could pack it down so much.

I have also used this jacket as a shell when hunting in Florida. it was breathable and light enough so i didn't overheat.

Just this last week i used it as a skiing shell in utah. I layered up enough to keep warm while skiing, and once again the jacket proved to be tough and durable. one feature i esp. appreciated were the zippers in the arm-pits. this allowed for good air flow and kept me from over heating.

I was amazed by this jacket and have recommended it to many of my friends. one who purchased one and loves it more than me."

"I generally reserve my reviews for my absolute most favorite products, and this is definitely at the top of the list.

The Featherweight jacket is exactly what it says, lightweight, highly breathable, completely waterproof and packs down to almost nothing. It is also the finest ultra light jacket I have ever worn.

The comfort level and versatility is unmatched in the market place today. It looks great, wears better and is a superior value. I can't say enough about it....."
