"We purchased 2 different fleece jackets. The zip and pull-over. Both are excellent and of exceptional quality. The zip along the top (dog's back) is so easy to operate. The dog steps in and we zip it up for the walk. Removal is just as easy in reverse. Both dogs enjoy having the jackets to keep warm and stay dry from their chest to their rear. The pull-over jacket is as easy to put on as ever."

"Unfortunately, even though this coat is supposed to fit larger dogs, it is too small for my 100-pound Rottweiler. So, if your dog is over 100 pounds, I would not recommend it."

"It has exceeded our grandest expectations. She is short-haired and feels cold quickly. We had a fleece jacket that fit on top of her but the added feature of covering her belly is a huge bonus. She no longer "hurries through" her walks in cold weather and now just enjoys them. The only drawback is putting it on her - she has to step into it and we pull it up and then have to hold it while zipping. Not a big deal."

Great Coat But Problem With Fit,

"I have 2 coats similar to this one for my other dogs so I was thrilled to find this wraparound coat at Orvis for my pitbull. I especially love the fact that the design keeps the belly area warm. However, for some reason the fit is not 100% satisfactory. He definitely needs the size Large for his girth BUT it's too long for him and he gets the bottom of the coat all wet (if you know what I mean!). I decided to keep it and I tacked the back part of the bottom up with some thread. (Sigh)"

"I bought this for our Ridgeback puppy to get her accustomed to wearing a coat when it is colder since she has such short hair. She freaked out a little at first as the only other thing she has worn was her lifejacket for boating. Now she wears it on morning walks and it doesn't seem to bother her at all. It is easy to get on and is well made. The neck might be too small soon but for now it is okay."

The best design for older dogs,

"I've tried every dog jacket Orvis sells for my senior Golden Retrievers and this design is the winner of the bunch. I am back for extras now. (60-70 lb Goldens and the large size fits perfectly.) My Goldens are older and arthritic so it is not acceptable to have to maneuver their front wrists and legs through awkward or tight openings. This jacket opens up completely via a breakaway zipper at the dog's center back and they simply step into the arm holes and I zip it closed around them. I live in a drafty old house in VT so they wear their Fleece Dog Jackets in the house on the coldest winter days to keep their arthritic spines warm. Please note the low price of this jacket...the best is indeed the most inexpensive! An added plus: the belly area is covered on the outside by a layer of nylon over the fleece and it is easily wiped off after a winter walk without having to launder the entire jacket. Great design!"
