Therapeutic Bolster Bed for Dogs, November 8, 2009
By: iggysmom

"My dogs absolutely love this bed. And I did, too, for the first three hours I had it.

Unfortunately, it turns out that this bed is not a good value. The fleece portion of the cover sheds like crazy when it is new. I hoped it would eventually stop doing that -- it didn't -- and it does not hold up to dogs pawing it before settling.

Mine has big holes in it now. I have had to take it away from them so the stuffing isn't affected until I figure out what to do with it. (Hate to send it to the landfill . . . )

I could buy a replacement cover for one-third of the original purchase price and go through the whole thing again. . . or Orvis offered to sell me the super absorbent therapeutic bolster bed for 30% off the cost and free shipping. While I appreciate the gesture, it isn't good enough. After spending $220 on a dog bed (insane enough to begin with), I expect it to last more than a year.

I also have a deep dish suede bolster bed and it has held up well.

Unless you don't mind fleece fibers all over your rugs and your dogs are perfect angels and never paw their beds, don't buy an Orvis dog bed that has a fleece bed lining. It doesn't hold up."

Response from Orvis: By Orvis Customer Service Team, November 16, 2009
Orvis Customer Service immediately contacted this customer and apologized that the fleece cover shed. Orvis greatly appreciates customer feedback about our pet beds as we are constantly trying to find ways to improve them. Customer Service also forwarded the customer's comments to the product developers so they are aware of this issue.

Bolster memory foam dog bed, November 5, 2009
By: Reenie from West Chester, Pa

"We now have 3 beds for 3 very special Spinone Italiano. Unfortunately we didn't have them embroiderd with names. Each has selected their own bed and goes to that specific bed..
Each Spin loves their "new" bed so much they no longer sleep with us. During the day I now find them napping in their beds instead of our furniture. Couldn't be happier with the service of delivery also. Go Orvis!!! 5 STAR!!!!

"We purchased these beds for our 45 pound Golden Mix and 68 pound Retired Racing Greyhound. We purchased the Medium size and as you can see by the photo's there is plenty of room for each to stretch out. They absolutely love their new beds !!! The two disappointments we have found is that the fleece top sheds constantly, even after washing, as was recommended by one of the customer service agents, and it also allows the dogs hair to go through to the interior memory foam cover. Time will tell if it is as durable as the remainder of the canvas cover, which can be removed and replaced very easily with the ease of adequate & seperate well hidden zippers for the bolster and memory foam base."

Great bed---but pills, August 9, 2009
By: mpert

"I bought this bed (in xl) for our 6 year old english mastiff. He absolutely loves the bed! It's easy to wash, and looks great. My only complaint is the the white fleece material on where the dog lays pills. I have to constantly vacuum. If the material of the bed was all micro fiber this would be an amazing bed!!!"

Great Bed, a Company You Can Trust, August 7, 2009
By: Mychele

"I had ordered a different bed and wasn't pleased with the fill and my 2 labs didn't love it either, I brought it back after a couple months, to a nearby Orvis Store that opened, and Mark GLADLY said, we'll take it back, donate it, and you can pick a diff. one - he talked to me about my dogs, and what I was looking for. He recommended this bed, and we ordered it. When it came, my older lab slept on it the very first night (He usually prefers my bed!) And both dogs love it! I even took a nap with them on it and it's VERY comfortable - Orvis stands behind their products and also has EXCELLENT customer service! I am so pleased with this bed, the style, durability and memory foam that isn't too mushy, I am considering buying a second one for the main floor of my home! Thank You Orvis! (and Mark from the Cherry Creek Store!)"
