We listened to your feedback on our original Lift and Store Feeder, went back to the drawing board, and vastly improved the design and functionality of this popular favorite. The elevated drinking/eating area is now completely sealed off from the food-storage compartment below, eliminating the possibility of water contaminating the dry food. We also triple coated the counter surface, making it impervious to water stains. Finally, we redesigned the outside of this solid pine feeder with a classic bead board look. In dark cherry, white. 15"H x 14 5/8"D x 27½"L. Stores up to 20 lbs. dry food. Two 2-qt. bowls. Recommended for dogs 40+lbs.

"The seams separated at the joints immediately so the glue must not be adequate. Very poor quality so I returned it, not worth half the price. I don't think it would last 6 months of regular use."

"I ordered this dog feeder because it is actually the best looking feeder that I've seen on the market. While great looking and apparently improved, the top of the feeder began to swell and warp within a week around the water and food bowls. This dog feeder does not hold up to the "English Mastiff" test. I have purchased many "orvis dog" items in the past and have been impressed with the quality of all previous purchases until this one. Very disappointing especially given the price."

"I've wanted one of these for years, so I was thrilled when my husband purchased it for my birthday. It arrived with a defect in the top and a split in the side panel (about a half in from the joint). Orvis shipped another one the next day. it was also split.
I am so disappointed with this product. If this is new and improved, I'd hate to see the previous iteration. $168 is way too much to pay for something of inferior quality."

"While it looks great and the product description discussed how it has been improved, we found it to be susceptible to water damage. In fact, within a week or so of use, the area between the two bowls is starting to separate and lift away from the rest of the top. Hardly an improvement. I've contacted Orvis and they were extremely pleasant and accomodating regarding the return process. As soon as I can find a similar (but better) product, we will return this one. It looks great, however not well made. Disappointed."

"I loved the original Orivs raised feeder with storage until it warped (after 5 years). Then water began splashing on the stored food, causing it to mold. The new one takes care of that problem and I like having a feeder that matches the rest of the kitchen. My one suggestion would be to sell replacement bowls. I have two dogs and I'd like to have one set for food and another for water."

"This is exactly the size storage/feeder I was looking for. It is made of good quality and looks great! I wish there was an easier way to get at the food rather than lifting the top, because it is somewhat awkward and heavy and can be tricky with water in the bowls. But it would not stop me from purchasing or recommending. It is a little bit over price based on the material used, but when you can't find anything else comparable, you spend the money. My Golden's and I are happy."

"I bought an Orvis feeder 5 years ago and it has held up quite well. The top has cracked a bit because of water splashing on it. I wanted another 1 with the addition of a new dog so I searched the web. This orvis feeder is the tallest one I could find and resembles our other one . The "new improvement" of having the bowl separate from the food to prevent water contaminating the food seemed like a good design., although I have never had that problem with my older feeder. In practicality it is worse. You now have to lift the lid to get the food out and if you don't take the water bowl out you spill water onto your dog food. It is much more cumbersome to feed your dog having to lift the lid out out to get to the food. My 6 year old son used to feed the dogs, but now he can't with the new feeder.
I haven't decided yet whether I am going to return it. I may cut a whole in it so that it works like my old feeder. I like the way it looks and the height for my dogs is great and better for them. I talked with customer service and they apologized and said I could return it and get a full refund. They didn't make any other effort to improve the situation; such as refund my shipping costs or give me a discount which would have gone a long way to making me feel I was getting better value or wasn't disappointed and out $20 in shipping. My experience with customer service in the past has always been phenomenal."
