Outstanding fly rod!, March 2, 2010
By: SaltwaterFF from Panhandle, Gulf Coast

"I have 3 helios saltwater rods and they really fit my casting style. So naturally I wanted to try a Hydros after I learned it was the same blank as the Helios. The 7wt tip flex is a not only a good looking rod but nearly as light as the Helios in the hand. My first impressions were similar to the Helios...this rod is nice!

I have fished it on reds and even in high winds this rod performs very well. It is dead on accurate even in tough conditions. Drifting in on reds in shallow water with a tail wind there is little time for error. I was able to put the fly quickly in front of fish! Power to handle the wind but plenty of feel for the close shots. Awesome! I will be ordering more Hydros rods!"

Lives up to the hype, November 9, 2009
By: CaptC from Florida and Colorado

"I was excited about getting the new Hydros rod because it's been compared so much to the Helios which I enjoy fishing with.

Yes it's a little heavier than the Helios but the action seems very similar in an easy to cast, light in the hand feeling.

I've taken caught several bonita and bass on it so far. I'm looking forward to tossing big streamers with it next spring in Colorado."
